Tilghman Tiger Talk
Principal's Update 2021
Week of March 29- April 1st
Hello Tilghman Elementary Families,
Wow! What a gorgeous day and productive week! It's a joy to have all of our 1st- 5th grade students back four days per week. Thank you for your patience with drop-off and pick-up as we have a great number of car riders this year. As a reminder, doors open at 8:30 and instruction begins at 8:45. Dismissal begins at 3:10.
Please remember that next Thursday, April 1st is an early dismissal starting at 12:00 p.m. School will be closed on Friday, April 2nd through April 9th. TES will re-open on Monday, April 12th. At that time all in-person students, Pre-K through 5th grade, will be returning to TES for four full days of instruction (M, T, Th, and F).
Teachers in grades 1-5 will be providing synchronous on-line small group instruction on Wednesday mornings. Please make every effort to have your child log on using FROG when you get specific information from your child's teacher. This instructional time will be used for enrichment, intervention, or reteaching. If you have specific questions, please feel free to call the school office.
Next week, we will start calling home to let families know revised bus routes and/or times for the last quarter of this school year. TCPS will be posting the capacity and rider numbers per bus by school. We are hopeful that this information helps families decide if they want to utilize the bus.
We appreciate your continued support and flexibility!
As always, we continue to make the best choices for our students and to be #smallbutmighty.
Ms. Murdoch, Proud Principal

Mental Health Minute
We wanted to share a list of songs that empower our students and help them build a growth mindset! Having a growth mindset can help encourage us to keep going even when things get tough. Instead of giving up when we face a challenge, we can use new strategies, ask for help, and keep working hard! Here are some songs to play to help empower and encourage our students to build a growth mindset:
- Be The Change - Britt Nicole
- Something More - Gabriela Bee
- Footprints on the Moon - Gabby Barrett
- Happy - Pharrell Williams
- Firework - Katy Perry
- Fight Song - Rachel Platten
- Brave - Sara Bareilles
- How Far I’ll Go - Auli’i Cravalho
- Rise Up - Andra Day
- Try Everything - Shakira
Always remember that you can reach out for help or support! We are here to support you in anyway that we can and are always happy to brainstorm new ideas and ways to continue to support you and your family, especially when we can’t be together in person.
