Cub Scout Pack 33 Newsletter
Wilmington, Delaware
Happy New Year!
In October, we had 2 pack hikes in local parks. We also helped out IHM Parish at their annual Consignment Sale. All through the fall, cub scouts raised money by selling refreshments at IHM School basketball games. Many families enjoyed our annual hayride at Bellevue State Park.
In November, we had our first overnight trip, an outing to Ashland Nature Center, studying "Unhuggable" animals, astronomy and hiking with naturalists and parents. This month's pack hike was to a national wildlife refuge in Philadelphia. Cub Scouts had a great time racing their homemade boats and practicing good sportsmanship at the Raingutter Regatta as well.
In December, we had another local pack hike as well as our annual Adopt A Family service project and celebration in which scouts and families shop for families from St. Paul's parish and celebrate Christmas together.
As always, please follow the wiksispace for information on Pack activities.
We have lots of exciting events planned for 2014, but we will need the help of family members (parents, grandparents and others are welcome). We will also have some change in Pack Committee leadership as some parents leave for Boy Scouts with their sons. We always welcome new volunteers, whether on a one time project like shirt sales or registration, or an ongoing position like Service Chair. Contact any leader for more information on available opportunities.

Cub Scout Summer Camp
There is no better way to retain scouts than to offer them excitement and adventure in the outdoors. Del-Mar-Va Council has great facilities where Scouts make nature their classroom! During the summer, our council offers fantastic programs for Cub Scouts at Resident Camp at Henson Scout Reservation and Day Camp at several locations spread across the peninsula. Some of these day camps offer multiple weeks of programming and Scouts are encouraged to sign up for multiple sessions. At camp, Scouts will learn, play, advance and enjoy experiencing the out-of-doors.
