Immediate Superior: Engineering Manager
FabricAir manufactures air dispersion systems. FabricAir installed its first air dispersion system in a Danish slaughterhouse in 1973 to meet a demand for ductwork that could be laundered. This was the beginning of the development of a fabric air supply system which is a major emerging technology in the HVAC industry.
There are approximately 100 employees in the company worldwide with 13 of those employees in the US organization. The US office is just outside of Atlanta in Lawrenceville and houses a fun, progressive environment for 10 of the company’s up-and-coming talents. Required Skills/Experience:

The below assignments will form the primary part of a normal working day:
- Serve as a liaison between the field, the Rep company and our organization
- Provide extensive product knowledge, guidance and superior customer service to Consulting Engineers, Architects and Rep companies
- Utilize internal job database to quote and enter orders
- Maintain CRM database to ensure correct customer contact information
- Utilize MS Word and MS Excel to produce submittals, letters, reports, etc.
- Answering phone calls, post, and emails, and relaying appropriate messages
- Work with outside sales reps and customers to gather needed information to complete orders
- Manipulate online job database to determine new job status and relay appropriate info
- Produce and distribute orders and shipping/delivery confirmations
- Determine and relay needed information to complete job drawings
- Correctly name and manage files on a standard Windows-based network

Overview
The Staff Engineer Intern is generally a 3 to 4 year engineering student. A strong Staff Engineer Intern successfully contributes to the infrastructure design process, and has the ability to work with team members to complete the clients’ objectives. The Staff Engineer Intern will gain exposure to a variety of surveying and civil engineering projects. The ability to work in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
Organization Structure and Interfaces
The Staff Engineer Intern reports to the Senior Engineer or Project Manager.
Performance Objectives - Key Deliverables
- CAD Drafting and Site Design: The successful Staff Engineer Intern will work closely with internal staff to design site layouts, utility systems, and erosion control plans for various residential, commercial, and industrial developments. The Staff Engineer Intern must also be able to efficiently produce construction documents using AutoCAD software.
- Project Documentation: The successful Staff Engineer Intern will in accordance with established RAI procedures, systematically organize and maintain all documents (i.e. correspondence, reports, permits, changes, voids, etc.) associated with the project in a manner that will allow for complete and rapid retrieval.
- Support Project Managers and Senior Engineers: The Staff Engineer Intern will support the daily activities of assigned Project Manager or Senior Engineer. The Staff Engineer Intern must work with Project Manager or Senior Engineer to organize priorities to ensure that project deadlines are achieved.

Co‐op duties and responsibilities may include:
‐ Preparing and modifying engineering drawings using the latest version AutoCAD Civil 3D.
‐ Preparing quantity take‐offs and cost estimates.
‐ Performing hydraulic flow testing of water systems and computer hydraulic modeling.
‐ Preliminary design of water lines, sewer lines, grading plans, etc.
‐ Linear and topographic surveying using a total station and other surveying instruments.
‐ Create spreadsheets, generate miscellaneous technical data and perform hand calculations.
‐ Technical writing.
‐ Shop drawing reviews.
‐ Onsite construction reviews and observations.
‐ Interface with project team members from our other offices as well as our clients.
Educational Requirements:
‐ Must be currently enrolled student majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a minimum 2.8 GPA and must have completed their freshman year prior to the beginning their first co‐op rotation.
Abilities / Skills:
‐ Self‐motivated, responsible, dependable and mature and must be able to demonstrate a high level of
professionalism both in behavior and appearance.
‐ Strong ability to think, learn and work independently, and follow directions with a decreasing level of
supervision as the co‐op program progresses.
‐ Excellent written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills required and must be able to work well
with others in a team environment.
‐ Strong computer skills required especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
‐ Good visualization skills are necessary for CAD drafting. Although AutoCAD drafting experience is not
required, it is a plus. If applicant has no drafting experience using AutoCAD then on‐the‐job training
will be provided.
‐ Must be organized, punctual and be productive in an environment where priorities can change daily.

GA State University is hiring a Mechanical System Manager!
This position is within the Facilities Management Services Division.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Duties:
This Employee will be responsible for campus wide energy and other utility management to maintain efficient building systems.
-Oversee the campus utilities consumption and maintain energy intensity and water usage database. Monitor campus HVAC control systems’ operational effectiveness and assist the maintenance group by giving advice and instructions to optimize building systems’ operations. Provide engineering solutions for the maintenance teams. Assist Zone maintenance teams with writing specifications, providing sketches, and writing scope of work to bud small maintenance projects repair work, and alteration or upgrade of the existing mechanical systems.
-Maintain Energy Star database for the facilities. Implement metering and monitoring program for campus facilities. Identify energy saving projects/opportunities. Provide technical assistance to DCS project managers and Renovation Department project managers in identifying and evaluating energy efficiency and sustainable design for University Capital Construction projects. Assist the Director of Planning during design and planning for all new construction and renovation projects to integrate sustainable design principles and building practices that comply with the Georgia’s Energy-Efficiency Sustainable construction, “Peach Program”, and LEED building construction principles.
-Coordinate and lead technical reviews of construction project documents, which will include performance site-specific engineering analysis; evaluation of projects involving integrated building energy systems, passive design techniques, complex central plant systems, advanced HVAC equipment and laboratory control systems.
-Analyze the existing facilities conditions and identify mechanical and lighting upgrade projects to incorporate with the campus MRFF (Major Repair and Renovation Fund) project list. Create and maintain a campus facilities condition report database and prioritize the deferred maintenance items.
*Produce campus utilities consumption data to quarterly report to the VP of Finance and Administration and yearly report to Board of Regents.
-Establish and maintain an effective communication strategy, including Facilities website, newsletter, and a range of other vehicles for promoting campus sustainability efforts internally and externally, providing data of gradual improvement of energy and other utility consumption. Share resources and coordinate with the university Sustainability Program Coordinator to promote sustainability to achieve “buy-in” and habit transformation form student, faculty, and staff members.
-Perform other assigned duties.
Salary: $46,804 - $70,749
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and five years of related experience. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential and at least two years of experience as a CEM position preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: A successful candidate should possess the following:
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential and at least two year experience as a CEM position preferred.
- MEP design experience with knowledge of construction and delivery methods such as Design/Bid/Building, Construction Manager at Risk, and project manager for capital construction.
- Knowledge of laboratory building control systems and experience on university campus environment.
- Must have interpersonal and communications skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols.
