Important "To Do" Before School Starts!

Please check your email inbox for a message from the district containing your child's unique Snap Code. (If you don't find it, you might also check your junk folder.) You'll need this code to complete your child's online beginning of the year forms within the district's InfoSnap system. These forms provide the school vital information about properly caring for your child while at school and must be completed before school starts. Because this information is so important, your child's class placement will not be finalized until the forms are submitted.

These forms are intended to be completed from home, but if you need assistance, please call or come by the school Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:00.

(Students who have not submitted InfoSnap information will not be assigned to a class until the information is submitted.)
Big picture

Literacy Assessment Appointments

Tuesday, Aug. 13th, 7:30am-3:30pm

1101 Foster Drive

Conroe, TX

Teachers will be contacting families to set up appointments on August 13th for individual literacy assessment. Our intention is to find out each student's strengths and needs with regard to literacy development before school starts, so we can begin personalizing our instruction right from the beginning of school! Please save the date, so you can bring your child for his/her assessment!

Eat Breakfast at School!

Breakfast is served at school each day, starting at 7:30 and ending at 7:55. School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert, so they can learn more in class. It also provides vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body, which will help your child avoid illness. Breakfast at school is free, so help your child start the day off right with a nutritious meal!

Apply for Lunch Assistance

School breakfast is free, but lunch is not. Without meal assistance, a school lunch costs $2.85 each day, for each child. For some families, this can create a significant financial challenge. Everyone is encouraged to apply for meal assistance through the district website. (Look under "Parents/Students," then "school meals" under "Resources for Students." Apply for meal assistance by clicking the link under "Apply Online for Free and Reduced Meals" and filling in the required information.

Meal assistance applications must be renewed each school year. The previous year's plan will cover the first couple weeks of school, but to continue to receive assistance, each family MUST reapply at the beginning of the year, or the child will be required to begin paying full price for his/her meal.

If you have questions or need help, please contact the school during regular business hours.

Notice to Parents with Court Orders Affecting the Parent-Child Relationship

The Texas legislature passed a new law clarifying the Texas Family Code provision that sets out the rights and duties of parents when there is a court order affecting the parent-child relationship. The legislature clarified that “school activities”, as that term is used in the Family Code, includes, “school lunches, performances, and field trips.” Prior to the passing of this law, each Texas school district determined what activities were considered “school activities.” In compliance with the new law, effective at the beginning of this school year, when lunch is open to visitors, either parent may attend school lunch with his or her child, regardless of their period of possession, unless attending lunch is specifically prohibited by a court order. All parents are welcome to attend school performances. Field trips are limited to parents selected to serve as chaperones.
