This is the time of year when it can be easy to fall into a rut. Remember the little tricks that keep you from doing that. Keep a smile. Find joy in the small things. Remember why you're here. Stay away from negative people. Focus on the positive. It will always be up to you to choose to smile, not up to someone else. When you choose to smile, not only will your smile become the source of your own joy, but others as well. Pass a smile along each day!

Additional Announcements
- Thank you to all teachers who helped to chaperone at the Healthy Heart dance Friday.
- Take the time to de-clutter your classrooms. After Christmas and parties, items start to pile up on surfaces and in corners of the classroom. Students from poverty need an example of cleanliness and organization. Their classroom should look and feel different from their unorganized environment at home. Remember that students need to remain focused on the lesson, which is difficult for the brain to do with clutter around them. Please tidy up your rooms by Thursday, March 3 at 3:00p.m. An idea is to make it apart of your classroom jobs to maintain it for the year.
- We have been blessed with a beautification project for our school from City Year! If you are interested in having input on the project, there will be a meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 3:00-4:00p.m. in the library.
- The approved online websites for student use are System 44/Read180, Zearn, iRead, Moby Max (reading/math only), Raz-Kids and Headsprout (Special Education). If you are using technology for a math station rotation, Zearn aligns best with Eureka. Moby Max (math) can be used if you have two rotations. The approved programs have a dashboard that teachers can and should use to determine student progress. If you would like to use other apps or online resources, please schedule to meet with me to demonstrate the standards that students are meeting when using it and how you are using the data in the program to track student learning.
