Goal/Purpose: Review, evaluate and update/develop Written Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) Policy and the School-Parent Compact
Agenda Items:
I. Title I Program Presentation
II. Review and evaluate last year’s PFE Policy and School-Parent Compact
III. Jointly develop PFE Policy and Compact for current year
IV. School’s Curriculum, Academic Performance
V. Comments, Q&A.

DESCRIPTION: Parents, Students, Community and Staff are invited to come out and join our Parent and Family Engagement Meeting. This is an opportunity for us to come together as a collective to discuss activities, services, and programs that can improve our student’s academic success and partnership to elevate our state and local standards.

Texas A&M College Trip (12th Grade) 10/1/19
We had a fantastic college trip last Tuesday with 12th graders. We had a guided tour, a prospective student information session, and seen the beautiful sites on the A&M Campus. I want to thank you to Mr. Tunc, Ms. Horsley, Mr. Solak, and Ms. Johnson and to share some of the pictures from the trip with you.

Dear 9-11th Grade Students and Parents,
We are going to have PSAT/NMSQT(The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test ) on Wednesday, October 16th. Please note this date on your calendar! Significantly, students do not miss this day of school.

This resource will answer all of the student's questions about the test, and also has a practice test that allows previewing and become familiar with the test for students.

HPS Grow Your Own Teacher Education Assistance Program
Harmony Grow Your Own Teacher Educational Assistance program application process began today, October 1st, 2019. Attached is the GYOT flyers. We are using the same GYOT poster we had from previous years (Deadline needs to be corrected :). They are sent to your campuses by CCS coordinators.

GYOT Things To Do:
- Place GYOT Poster and Flyers in areas around your campus and campus social media accounts where they are highly visible to high school seniors and alumni.
- Arrange a time for your campus CCS advisor and coordinator to make individual, small group or classroom GYOT recruitment presentation to seniors.
- Communicate with your campus star teachers who can assist you to identify the talents among seniors and alumni who are the best fit for the program.
- Create a campus newsletter for your campus seniors' parents to know this opportunity
- Reach out to your campus alumni who might have interest and skills for education career
We are super excited about this upcoming cycle and look forward to receiving a great number of applications! Our CEO, Mr. Ay, gave us a very ambitious goal of 300 applications for this year to search for homegrown talents across Harmony which is 3 times higher than last year.
Campus GYOT goals are also attached.
Some GYOT Impact History:
Since the program started, we had 17 GYOT program graduates and 15 of them are still inspiring our students every day. There are currently more than 30 active participants in the program.

AP Exam Registration Deadline is Nov 4th
Students taking AP Exams must register by November 4, 2019, for the 2020 AP Exams. Please contact High School Dean of Academics Mr. Tunc or College Counselor Mr. Ozguven, for any questions
High School Aerospace Scholars
NASA wants today’s students to become the engineers, scientists, researchers and innovators of tomorrow. High School Aerospace Scholars offers a one-of-a-kind experience for Texas high school students to explore the possibilities of a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related major or career. The adventure starts this fall with an online course and culminates - for students who earn the opportunity - with an onsite summer experience at NASA's Johnson Space Center.
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizen
- Texas high school junior
- Committed to a one-year relationship with NASA
- Internet access (from home, school or public library)

SATURDAY SCHOOL
HSE offers free tutorials on Saturdays from 8:30 am- 12:00 pm. These sessions provide support to students who did not demonstrate content mastery on last year's STAAR exams. If your child receives a Saturday School Tutorial Notice in the mail, he/she did not pass last year's STAAR exam(s), and he/she is strongly encouraged to attend these sessions. If your child receives a notice and there is a weekend when he/she cannot attend, please provide a written excuse to Ms. Rosenberg by the following Monday.

College Readiness and Leadership Program(CRLP) Apply Now!
We would like to introduce a newly developed and fundamental program called the Harmony Public Schools’ College Readiness and Leadership Program (CRLP). Students at Harmony Schools have been participating in various local, statewide, and international competitions for over a decade. They have become some of the largest cumulative recipients of awards in the area of High School STEM comprehension. We enhance our students’ level one more step and prepare them to top universities in the country.

Program highlights
- Only rising 9-12 grade (14-17 years old) boys and girls as of June 2020.
