GENESIS PARENT PORTAL/FREE & REDUCED LUNCH APPLICATIONS
Children need healthy meals to learn. The Manville School District offers healthy meals every school day, and some children may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritionally balanced, reduced-cost or free breakfast and lunch to children each school day.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the federal government is providing no-cost meals to those qualifying for Reduced priced meal benefits, in addition to those who qualify for Free. Children may qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program (F&R) based on USDA federal guidelines for household income and size. If your household size or income exceeds the federal limit, there is also a New Jersey Expanded Income Eligibility (NJEIE) guideline for the 2023-2024 School Year, which if you meet, will make you eligible for Free meals (there is no Reduced category). Please view this income eligibility chart for both the federal and state.
We encourage all households to complete an application, even if you believe you may not qualify, as the information obtained may be used for other statistical evaluations and grant opportunities that may benefit the school district. Please note that applications are accepted for the current school year only.
To access the lunch application, log into the Genesis Parent Portal. Navigate to the ‘Forms’ tab. There will be an ‘Online Free and Reduced Lunch Application in the Forms Library. Click ‘Apply’ to start an application and follow the submission steps. Welcome Ms. Lisa Antonelli
Please join us in welcoming our newest Board Member, Ms. Lisa Antonelli! Ms. Antonelli is thrilled to start her position, and help our community succeed. She has been a resident of Manville since 1999 and is a mother of two wonderful children, a recent Manville graduate and a current student in ABIS. Ms. Antonelli has 22 years of experience within Early Childhood Education, and is currently a director at Bright Horizon’s. She is a graduate of Ashford University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management with a concentration in Human Resources. In her spare time, Ms. Antonelli loves to read, listen to music, and spend time with her family. She hopes to “positively impact the lives of the children, families, staff, and community we serve.” We are excited to have Ms. Antonelli on our Board, and we wish her much success in her new role.

National Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month was signed into law in 1988 by then-President Ronald Reagan. September 15 was chosen as the starting point because it is the anniversary of the independence of five Latin American countries (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua) that all declared independence in 1821.
Place Your Order for Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests
As of September 25, 2023, residential households in the U.S. can order one set of #4 free at-home tests from USPS.com again. Here's what you need to know about your order:
- Limit of one order per residential address
- One order includes #4 individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests (COVIDTests.gov has more details about at-home tests, including extended shelf life and updated expiration dates)
- Orders will ship free starting the week of October 2, 2023

3rd Annual NJ IDD Youth Transition Conference
You are invited to pre-register for the 3rd Annual NJ Youth Transition Conference, along with 700+ others who have so far committed to joining us in learning about transitioning into the adult world of Intellectual/Development Disability services services and supports.
The 3rd Annual NJ YTC is free for all to attend. CEU certificates will be sent to those who register while attending each workshop they join. (It will be up to your employer to accept the CEUs as credit.)

Manville Town Wide Yard Sale
Saturday, October 7, 2023 with Sunday, October 8th as rain date.
Registration is still open for the Annual Town Wide Yard Sale. For a small fee, residents may hold their yard sale either at their residence or on the library grounds. Participants keep all proceeds. The registration fee covers the yard sale permit, all advertising and promotion, your location listed on the print and Google maps, and signage. This fundraiser benefits the Manville Public Library. Food Assistance
The Manville Food Pantry will be open the second Saturday of each month at the Faith in Action Church at 228 S. Main Street. Please make sure to bring your ID and a bag.
Feeding Hands is also offering assistance the fourth Saturday of each month at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 34 South Third Avenue. See the flyer for dates and more details.
CIACC Corner
Somerset County's CIACC (Children's Interagency Coordinating Councils) has a number of resources available to residents.
- Disaster Recovery Case Management Free service for individuals or families with 1:1 support from a trained Disaster Case Manager that will assist in linking to resources. Case Managers also provide assistance with interactions with FEMA, insurance companies & other disaster-related resources/services. Spanish-speaking Case Managers are also available.
