Brief History

Kansas State University was founded in 1863 and since has been recognized as one of the best in America. K-State has also produced campuses in Salina and Olathe in the past. More than 200,000 people have called K-State home.

Journalism Major

Kansas State offers a journalism major to its students. This major works through magazines, radio, television, public relations, advertising, photojournalism, multimedia, the internet and other technologies. A $1500 scholarship is awarded to about 95 students.


Purple and White Scholarship for non-Kansas residents gives $8000 a year (renewable) to incoming students with a minimum 3.5 GPA and 24 ACT

Presidential Scholarship gives $20000 (renewable) to an incoming freshman with a 32 higher ACT, 3.85 GPA, Top 10 percent rank, and display extraordinary leadership with other qualifications.

The Nancy Landon Kassebaum Scholarship $5000 (nonrenewable) to an incoming freshman that has a 26 ACT and 3.6 GPA and show a commitment to community service and along with other qualifications
