Oster's Jackson Garden Update
While it’s not yet possible for us to have fun events in the school garden, we think we can still learn, admire, and stay connected to our school garden, even if it is from a distance.
Take some time this week and enjoy all the beauty fall has to offer. Here is a yummy Applesauce Granola Recipe we hope you can enjoy making with your family: https://www.yummytoddlerfood.com/recipes/breakfast/homemade-granola/print/3137/
If you have any garden pictures to share, we would love to see them!

Oster's Distance Learning Support Center
If you are interested in having your student attend the Oster Distance Learning Support Center, please read through our Information Packet linked here and the information below for specifics and requirements. After reading through the terms and agreements you are still interested in having your child(ren) attend, please fill out the google form linked here.
Here are some basics for our next session:
- Space Priority: Cohort 3 will have 12 spaces available. If more than 12 students register the eligibility will be by lottery.
- Times: 8:00 am-11:30am (Monday-Friday)
- Location: Oster School
- Students must attend daily. This is not a drop-in session.
- Cost: Free to Oster Students Grades K-5 (Currently not open to TK students)
*Special Note about Oster's Support Center: It is important to note the center will facilitate access to, and help support students with their distance learning. Your student will still be distance learning with their teacher via zoom and supported in person by an activity leader.
Oster is excited to announce the opening of our K-5 Games and Activities Club!
What is the Games and Activities Club?
Oster's club will meet once a week on Wednesdays for an hour for three weeks. The purpose is for students to interact, play, laugh and engage in structured activities with students at their school site. It’s a great chance to get outside and socialize with other kids!
When and where will the club be held?
The games club will be held at Oster on Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30pm: Oct. 21, Oct. 28, and Nov. 4. We will continue to hold 3 week sessions after that so that we can include as many students in a session that are interested.
Parents will need to check their kids in at 12:30 and pick them up between 1:25-1:30pm.
What safety precautions will be in place?
All district COVID protocols will be followed and parents will need to follow and sign the COVID Procedures and Protocols document ensuring that they follow the Parent/Guardian Guidelines for their student to participate. This information will be sent to you via email prior to your student participating in a session.
What should students bring to the club?
Students should bring a water bottle. Food and toys should not be brought to the club sessions.
What will the kids be doing?
Club activities will vary by age and group but may include warm-up exercises, structured games, get to know you activities and free play. Students will be placed in groups with students of a similar age span. Unfortunately, we will note be able to take requests for placement with other specific students.
What other information should I know?
Under current COVID guidelines, students can participate in two cohort activities. If your student is currently participating in one cohort, they can sign up for this opportunity as well.
Parents must provide transportation and students must arrive and leave on time or risk losing their spot in the club.
If it does rain on a Wednesday, unfortunately the club will be cancelled and make-up sessions will not be held. Staff will notify parents by 11:00am that day to let them know about cancellations.
If students have assigned asynchronous class work for Wednesday afternoons, they will need to complete it before or after the Games and Activities Club.
How do I sign up?
If you would like to sign up, complete the Games and Activities Club google form here:
Oster Games and Activities Sign Up Form
There is a spot to ask any follow-up questions within the form. We will go in order of first come, first served, but plan to continue offering sessions so that everyone who wants to attend a session can take part!

Thank Oster's Hard Working Teachers!
Oster HSC invites you to participate in our yearly Staff Appreciation project. Last year we asked families to donate snacks and drinks and notes of encouragement to have in the staff room. It was a huge success, and so appreciated by all of our Oster staff! This year we would like to continue that tradition, but on a more distanced level. We are asking families to click the link HERE to access the Oster Spirit Store and donate funds using the Staff Appreciation purchase button. This money will be used just like last year, but we will do the shopping for you! Let’s show our appreciation to the Oster Staff!
Be sure to check out the Oster HSC website for our October Newsletter!
