Many countries today still use child soldiers in Africa and other parts of the globe. Countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria have all had use of child soldiers. Many terrorist organizations have used child soldiers as well such as the Taliban and Al-qeauda
How Are Child Soldiers Used?
Child Soldiers were used in many ways off the battlefield and on. Some jobs they might have include cooking, cleaning, human shields, suicide bombers, spies and most females were used as sex slaves. In 2007 7,000 to 10,000 child soldiers were reported in the ranks of countries armies.
Why Are Child Soldiers Used?
Child soldiers are used because of how easy they are to manipulate. Also easier to come by when you need men. Many child soldiers are used to protect the soldiers they fight with hoping the enemy won't shoot a child.
My Solution To The Issue
Solution:
One way to end the suffering of these innocent children, is raise the age allowed to fight in these countries to 21. Also create punishments for countries breaking these laws. Children should not be allowed in the army nor be forced to face the dangers of a modern battlefield. Help spread awareness of this treachery that is unfolding.
