Principal’s Notes
I never cease to be amazed at the resiliency of children. Even with all the difficulties the pandemic has created, our students are bouncing back! Every day I see students being kind to one another, respectful toward teachers and adults, trying their best in class, and having fun with their classmates. When I am feeling stressed or challenged with all the “grown-up” things I have to do each day, just taking a few minutes to watch the kids playing or working on something interesting in class makes me feel better. It reminds me of why we do what we do at school--helping children learn and grow into kind, responsible, and respectful citizens.
I encourage all our parents to take a few minutes to talk with their children about their day at school each day. Ask them about their friends and about what they learned today, and really listen to what they say. This kind of communication and conversation with students helps them to have a more “normal” school experience (whatever that means nowadays) and to reflect on the positive things that are happening in their lives at school. That means so much to our students.
Thank you once again to all the families, students, and staff members who have had to be inconvenienced by rolling quarantines. It creates great difficulties for everyone when we have to quarantine students and staff members. Let’s all continue to work together as a school community, including staff, students, and parents, to do everything we can to slow down the spread of COVID. By using every tool we have, including hand washing, sanitizing, social distancing, masking, and vaccination, we can greatly reduce the need for quarantines. Please, if you are not already, consider taking advantage of every tool we have in our tool box to help our community move past COVID. If everyone does their part, we can end this pandemic.
Our kids are resilient, and our school is, too. We can bounce back from this pandemic and we are working to make that happen. Let’s all do our part!

Face Coverings
- Find a mask that is made for children to help ensure proper fit, check to be sure the mask fits snugly over the nose and mouth and under the chin.
- The mask should be secured with ties or ear loops, no gaps around the sides.
- Allow for breathing without restriction.
- Cloth face masks should be washed and dried after each wearing.
- Disposable masks should only be worn for one day, then discarded.
Teach kids how to put masks on and take them off
- Remind them to wash their hands before and after wearing it.
- Avoid touching it once it's on.
- When taking the mask off, avoid touching the front of the face mask by taking it off from behind.
Make it fun and personal
- You can find fun, colorful masks in many stores or online. Look for ones with superhero characters, movie favorites, silly faces, or animal prints. A personal touch can help make masks a more normal part of their routine.
Gaiter masks and masks with valves are not allowed.

What's your Learning Style?
Learning style refers to the ways you prefer to approach new information.
Each of us learns and processes information in our own special style, although we share some learning patterns, preferences, and approaches. Knowing your own style also can help you to realize that other people may approach the same situation in a different way from your own.
Parents and Students- Take a few minutes to complete the following questionnaire to assess your preferred learning style. Knowing your learning style can help boost your learning potential.
