Our next band payment is due on January 15th.
This is our penultimate payment with the final payment being February 15th.
***Remember that all fees must be paid in full in order to attend the Spring Trip to Corpus Christi.
Please turn in payments to the lock box outside of Mr. Treadwell's office.
Please help us to stay on track and be able to make our end of the year payments and maintain our schedule for this year and next years budget.
Movment Camp # 1 on January 23rd
We will be having our first Movement/Choreography camp on January 23rd from 6-8pm. Dinner is included for the students!! This event involves Incoming freshmen (8th graders), Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders only.
We are going to hype up, build choreography vocabulary and build relationships with our new incoming members. We will be working with Mr. Fernandez and our Choreographer for next year.It will be a blast!!
The next camps to put on your radar are:
February 20th and March 26th.
**Side note to students/parents associated with Cockrill, defer to their concert for this night if you would like to go. and we will catch the kids up on 2/20 and 3/26. We were locked to when the indoor gym was available and apologize for this oversight.
Incoming Freshmen meeting ALSO on January 23rd
After the students finish eating and transition to the indoor gym, incoming parents will have a brief meeting in the Cafeteria from 7:00-8:00PM.
Our reasons for doing are two fold:
1. It encourages more incoming freshmen to be at our 1st Movement camp and have a stronger indication of next years numbers.
2. It prevents the Middle School students/parents from having to have even MORE things to do and schedule for multiple nights at the High school in January. (We'll transition them in slowly ;) )
****Side note to students/parents associated with Cockrill, defer to their concert for this night if you would like to go. We will work with Cockrill staff to make sure all information is available and given to you.
HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! THIS NIGHT IS CRUCIAL FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR PROGRAM!
Looking Ahead: Solo Contest accompanists
NOW IS THE TIME!
Solo contest seems like it is a ways out, but now is the time to make arrangements for piano accompanists.
It is highly encouraged that anyone wanting to participate in the March 21st MISD solo contest should do these two things before ASAP:
1. Look at our website and secure one of our approved accompanists. CLICK HERE
2. Order a hard copy of their solo through a music publisher (can take up to 6 weeks to arrive)
If you have any further questions about securing a solo/accompanists, feel free to talk to a private lesson teacher or one of the Boyd band directors.
