Update #4

Did you Know?

Doctor's can now tell the gender of a baby by taking the mother's blood at 12 weeks? The Estes family does and would like to let the basketball family know Mrs. Coach Estes is pregnant and will give birth to a baby boy in May.

Shop with a Buc

In order to act out our motto of valuing others while we pursue greatness. The JV/Varsity guys will sponsor 4 students from our feeder elementary school to provide Christmas to. In order to do this we need to raise $400. Each player is challenged with raising $20 for us to reach our goal.

Habitudes - Thermostats and Thermometers

Thermometers reflect the climate around them while thermostats set the climate. We want to be thermostats and not thermometers. We want to be influencers and not just be merely influenced. As leaders we want to be "healthy thermostats" which have 2 common traits:

1. They Live by Values

2. They add value (their actions help and serve others)

This week in our habitudes study the guys focused on and discussed what values they wanted to live by. Great conversations went on all around the room. Take some time this week to talk to your player about what values they said they wanted to live by. The last thing we left them with was not to be "hollow man." The "hollow man" is big on the outside with nothing on the inside. Words are merely words until our actions back them up.

Game at East Paulding

Congrats to all 3 boys teams as they all defeated East Tuesday night. Also, congrats to the Varsity Girls team on their win over East. It's a great way to open region play. The Varsity boys played well and did a good job of staying under control against the uptempo Runnin' Raiders. Final score was 74-49. Thanks to everyone who came out to support.

Louisville Trip

In the first round of the "Rumble at the Ridge" the Bucs will face the Tigers of Hopkinsville, KY. The Tigers are a preseason #11 team in the state. Kentucky does not have classifications, so they are picked to be very good this year. More on that later.... Have to stay focused on one game at a time. We will try to update this section tomorrow with our hotel information for any parents who may want to come and need to call and book a room.
