Field Trip- Bus Update
If you have not submitted a bus request for a trip, please try to get parent drivers.
If you have already submitted your request, the bus company will honor this commitment.
Absence Protocol- Review Required
This is a reminder of the absence protocol:
1) Put in all absences into the sub. system as soon as you know you will be absent.
2) If you are submitting absences in advance, please check the sub system to make sure that the absence has been entered and a sub. has picked it up.
3) Complete absence paperwork and give to Ms. Warren the day you return to school.
4) If you are taking a personal day, this must be requested in writing in advance.
In addition, I'm adding a new procedure which I will review with staff at our staff meeting on Monday:
Due to the shortage in subs, if you are calling in sick, please text or email me and Ms. Plambeck and the office staff that morning so we can make sure your sub. shows up and your children are not left on the yard waiting.
This is to happen EVEN If you think you have a sub. coming as we are routinely having subs. cancel the morning of a job or not showing up at all and this creates a lot of chaos for your class and support staff who scramble to cover your students.
Faculty Council Concern: Lunch Line Follow Up
Effective Tuesday, please have your students trained on getting their cards and giving them to the cafeteria worker.
Please note we will have a new worker this week so we will need to be patient with the transition.
Giving Campaign Update!
The Glenview Giving Campaign ends in less than two weeks, and we haven’t quite made it halfway to our goal of $125,000. Can you help us cross that halfway point? If we can make $10,000 this week, all Glenview students will get an extra Free Dress day this Thursday! Donations can be placed in your child’s homework folder or made online through the school’s website: glenviewelementary.org.
Tuesday, Oct. 10 (5:30pm to close): Marzano will AGAIN donate 15% of its proceeds to Glenview. Please support this local restaurant!
Wednesday, Oct. 11: Annual Giving Campaign Closes
Tuesday, October 17: Bonus Event! Park Burger will donate 15% of its dinner proceeds to Glenview. Be sure to top off your meal with one of their amazing milkshakes!
Sunday, Oct. 22: Oakland Fun Run to Benefit Glenview Elementary. Sign up to run or walk the lake through our link, and all proceeds go to Glenview! https://tinyurl.com/glenviewfunrun
