Weekly Updates From CHS9 - 5/22/22
Welcome to the weekly CHS9 Parent Newsletter
Week in Review/Look Ahead
It is so hard to believe that tomorrow begins the last week of the 2021-2022 school year, and you will all soon be sophomores! It seems like only yesterday you were all scrambling inside the building for schedule pick up.
It has been a pleasure watching each of you grow and learn throughout the school year, and we are grateful to have had you all as part of the CHS9 Family! As we prepare to see the first class of CHS9 students graduate on Friday, May 27th, just know that once a part of this family, always a part of this family! We look forward to watching you continue to grow over the next few years before you walk that stage yourselves.
As we said last week, please remember that all school expectations are still in place, including dress code, attendance, and behavioral expectations. You are almost to the finish line, finish strong!
I truly hope you all have a wonderful and restful Summer break, and I hope you never forget...We Love You Guys!
Please see the updates below and let's have an awesome last week at CHS9!

Students not Coming Back for 2022-23 – CHS9
We would ask that you complete the form by May 18, 2022 so that we can provide further guidance on returning district devices and other items.
We understand that you may have already let us know via e-mail that your child will not be returning, but we need to gather additional information about your future plans at this time.
In an effort to continually improve our schools, we appreciate feedback from families who choose to withdraw their child from Coppell ISD. We know that there are many different reasons families change schools. The decision to transfer a child/children to a new school is never an easy one. We respect the difficulty of your decision. Please remember that should you decide to bring your child back to us, we will be here ready to welcome them back!
Asian/ Pacific American Heritage Month
May is Asian/ Pacific American Heritage Month, a month to celebrate and pay tribute to the contributions generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans have made to American history, society, and culture. In 1978, a joint congressional resolution established Asian/ Pacific American Heritage Week. The first 10 days of May were chosen to coincide with two important milestones in Asian/ Pacific American history: the arrival in the United States of the first Japanese immigrants (May 7, 1843) and contributions of Chinese workers to the building of the transcontinental railroad, completed May 10, 1869. In 1992, Congress passed legislation which permanently designated May of each year as “Asian/ Pacific American Heritage Month.” Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans have played a significant role in our city and state, leading our community in such industries as education, medicine, finance, government, and international trade.
