STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Fernwood Orchestra
On Thursday, January 20th the Fernwood Orchestra joined forces with Alder orchestra and performed their winter concert together at EHTHS. It was an incredible performance and we are so proud of the Fernwood Orchestra for being a part of a 75-person middle school ensemble! They also got to watch the High School's orchestra performance, which included percussion ensemble(s) and very talented dancers from EHTHS.

Fundamentals of French
Students in the Fundamentals of French 7th grade classes practiced asking and answering questions about the more than 35 fruits they have learned to say in French! In allowing the students to choose which fruits they talk about and which questions they ask, their confidence in the language continues to improve and their pronunciation is becoming amazing! Wonderful job everyone!
Dream Home
Students in Miss Merryman's 6th grade Pre-Algebra class designed their dream home. Students sketched a floor plan using a scale factor, then calculated the area and perimeter of each room. They used this information to pick out a flooring online and use the unit rate to calculate the cost of flooring for the entire home.

Girls Basketball Team
The Girl’s Basketball team defeated Hammonton with a score of 31-13 on Wednesday. Our defense was able to stop Hammonton’s offensive game almost immediately and caused them to have numerous turnovers. Great communication by Mariah Newman and Taison Parker helped all of the players know exactly where to be, even with numerous substitutions. Their passing got everyone involved! Sam Battersby and Kayden Senior battled in the paint for points and rebounds! Caitlin Harding did a great job pushing the ball up the court! Katie Colella, Layla Wallace, and Christina Massey played great on the wings and had good stops on defense! It was a great team effort!
The Fernwood Girl’s Basketball team defeated Bridgeton with a score of 39-24. Once again, a strong 1-3-1 defense at the start of the game immediately shut down Bridgeton’s offense! The Lady Eagles had eight players scoring points!!! Baskets were made from all angles of the court!! The girls also went 5 for 6 from the free throw line, which is our best percentage so far this season! Amazing job to every single player, both offensively and defensively! Fabulous teamwork!!!
The Girl's basketball team is working this week on decorating the doors to the Gymnasium for Renaissance's door decorating contest. Stay tuned for the final product! It will be an adorable one!
