The Germans cane to the US in the 1800's. They came for better...religion,education,health,bigger opportunities and people often said that the streets were paved with gold.

A German Tradition
The German's brought many traditions with them to America. One of the traditions they had was Slap Dancing. This is a dance that they were special costumes for. Both men and women dance. The men dance around and slap their hand on themselves and on the ground while the women just danced around.

My name is Lauren Nicole Cravillion, I am 9 years old, I am in 4th grade and my teacher is Mrs.Kentop I have a mom and her name is Shawne, a dad and his name is Jamie and a step mom and her name is Melissa.I have three sisters and their names are Michella, Cadence and Mia. And I have a brother named Prestyn and I also have two dogs and their names are Choxie and Roxie.
German Drop Doughnuts
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 cup sugar1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
oil (for frying)
Directions:

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg until thoroughly blended.

Add oil, milk and egg and mix well.

Drop by spoon into hot oil.

Fry until light brown on both sides turning once.

Drain well on paper towels or brown paper bag.
