Delran High School Broadcast
November 16, 2018
A Message from Mr. Finkle
This is my last broadcast for the month of November. May you have a wonderful time this Thanksgiving with family and friends. Enjoy. Safe travels. Happy Thanksgiving! Just a friendly reminder that we are having an early dismissal on Wednesday, November 21st and no school on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd!
In an effort to feed the hungry this holiday season, DHS is participating in "Can The Principal". The Peer Leaders and the National Honor Society are encouraging students and staff members to collect enough canned or boxed goods to fill my office from floor to ceiling. Beginning on Monday, November 19th, we are asking every student and staff member to bring in canned or boxed goods. The food drive will end on Thursday, November 29th. The top 10 first period classes that collect the most goods will be treated to a movie during a school day Periods 1-4. Donations will be given to the Preston and Steve's Camp Out For Hunger. We will deliver our donations on Friday, November 30th. Let the games begin!!!!!!
Congratulations to Delran High School's 2018 Inductees into the National Honor Society. The evening was a memorable occasion, and we are very proud of our scholars! Please enjoy the pictures and a video of the ceremony posted below!
Congratulations of our first marking period Principal's List and Honor Roll students. Our Principal's List students enjoyed a delicious breakfast yesterday morning as a reward for their efforts and accomplishment. Lists and pictures are provided below.
As the fall sports season comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our fall athletes for their hard work and dedication to our program. Each and every player represented DHS with pride and dignity. We are very proud of you and we look forward to the winter season. The football team will play their last game against Cinnaminson on Wednesday, November 21st at 7pm.
You are cordially invited to our Fall Play which will be held on Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th. Detailed information is posted below. We are looking forward to our students' performances!

SAT/ACT Prep Course at DHS
Staffs Prep will also be offering a free mock SAT or ACT for Delran High School students. They will be given on Saturday, November 17th here at DHS. Students/Parents can visit www.staffsprep.com/mockexam to register! Can you beat free?
A testimonial from a DHS parent: My son, as well as my husband and I, could not be more pleased with the program as well as appreciative of Mr. Jain's commitment to student success. At the College Night presented by the Guidance Department, I wanted so much to encourage other families to have their children enroll in this program. Due to conflicts, my son had to postpone taking the SAT until a later month. The Staffs Prep instructor, Paras Jain, graciously allowed him to sit in on two additional classes this session to serve as a review before he takes this exam.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Staffs Prep orgainization at contact@staffsprep.com.

ATHLETIC NEWS
Mr. Guidotti's Update
Another exciting Fall season is about to come to an end. What better way to end this great season than to play a Thanksgiving Eve football game at Cinnaminson on Wednesday, November 21st at 7pm. A DHS football victory would give the Bears a share of the division title. The Bears have had a wonderful season so far. They are currently 8-1 and the community is so proud of all of their hard work and effort all season.
The boys’ soccer team had another wonderful season which ended with a Group 2 South Championship, the fourth time in a row for this accomplishment. The boys grew as a team and played some of their best games during the playoffs. The senior class will be missed. Thank you for the great season!
Members of the boys’ and girls’ cross-country team competed in the sectional championships at Thompson Park in Monroe a couple of weeks ago. Both teams had a successful season because they continued to improve with every meet. We are very proud of both programs.
The girls’ soccer team qualified for the state tournament as a 4 seed. The Lady Bears played very hard until the last whistle. The program continues to improve, and we look forward to seeing more success in the future from our Lady Bears.
The field hockey team and the girls’ tennis team ended their season weeks ago, however, we cannot forget the exciting games and matches that they were involved in. Thank you for the great memories and keep working hard in the off season.

Burlington Township High School is offering a free workshop for high school athletes and their parents on Tuesday, November 27th at 6:30pm at BTHS (Performing Arts Center) for the purpose of providing information concerning NCAA preparation. This year, BTHS is incorporating a segment concerning the physical and mental preparation for high level competition. If parents and students would like to attend the workshop, you will need to reserve a seat online via https://burltwpsch.tix.com.
FamilyID is open right now for any students who are interested in participating in a Winter sport at Delran High School. Please log in and complete all sections of the registration. If you experience any issues, please contact Sue Jordan, ext. 3003 in the main office. If you need to turn in a new valid physical, please drop it off in the main office. A physical can take up to two weeks for approval from the school physician so do not wait to turn the forms in. If your child has been diagnosed with Asthma or uses an inhaler for any reason, you must complete an Asthma Treatment Plan with your doctor during your scheduled physical. If your vision is less than 20/40 in either eye you must get clearance from your eye doctor that you are cleared to participate.
