Friday, May 31---10:30 am-12:30 pm---OPTIONAL Team Social at Little Elm Beach (it's $10/vehicle so try to set up carpools!). We will meet up for some fun in the sun at Little Elm Beach. We will build stunt group sandcastles, cool off in the lake, and hang out as a team. Parents, this event is not a "drop and go" event. Please plan on staying to help supervise. Coaches will NOT be responsible for your child. This is a fun way to kick off summer after a hard week of camp, but we want all parents to know that this event is not being supervised by coaches. We need parents to help out as well. (Example: If you set up a carpool of 4 cheerleaders, the parent who drives is required to stay and supervise those 4 girls.) Bring a chair, water bottles, a speaker for music if you'd like, snacks, sand toys, a towel, and sunscreen! Feel free to stay longer if you wish, but our team event will conclude at 12:30 pm. Here is the website for Little Elm Beach.

MEET OUR COACHES
Coach Wandersee has had 21 years of coaching experience (middle school, high school, co-ed high school, and competitive cheer teams) and also worked as a head UCA camp instructor for 8 years, traveling all over the country teaching camps, choreography, and tumbling classes. She attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where she cheered all 4 years on the Varsity co-ed team. In 2004 she served as a judge for the European National Championship and worked as a competition judge for UCA and Spirit Event Coordinators for 7 years. She taught and coached at Ted Polk Middle School and Newman Smith High School in Carrollton/Farmers Branch for 5 years, and for the past 10 years has been a 7th and 8th grade teacher and cheer coach at Cockrill. Coach Wandersee coached competitive all-star cheer 2018-2022 as well. She has two kids (4th grade and 6th grade), and her husband is a realtor with Remax. Coach Wandersee’s love for working with students is evident in all that she does, whether it’s in the classroom, in the gym, or on the field.
Coach Matte has been a Science teacher for 11 years and cheer coach for six years. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Coach Matte has a heavy background in dance and cheer and absolutely loves coaching at the middle school level. She danced for six years, starting at the age of 7. Her love for dance and choreography sparked her interest to cheer for three years in high school, but she soon discovered her love for dance was even stronger. She ended her senior year with dancing on her school’s drill team. After high school, Coach Matte attended Louisiana State University where she met her husband. She graduated with a degree in education and a minor in Earth Science before she went on to get her Masters degree in Educational Leadership. She has three sons who attend McKinney ISD schools. She is looking forward to this school year and spreading her love of cheer and dance to our CMS cheer team!
