Apps for Autism
Check out these great apps for Autism from Ashley Weaver. One of my favorites is the Social Stories app for students who struggle with peer relationships. Social stories are a great methodology when teaching students who are more concrete in learning about how to respond to specific social situations and/or who have high anxiety before trying new things.
New Data Tracking Tool!
Ashley Weaver has been working on a new data tracking tool through Google docs. This will be emailed out in the next few days. Please let us know if you have additional recommendations to tweak it for your needs. It is recommended that all goals for new IEPs from January 1st on be tracked with the new Google doc. This will ease in transitioning students to a new building or grade level.
Thank you for providing feedback, so we could create a data tracking system that best meets your needs!
Polar Plunge ~ Saturday, January 30th!
The Polar Plunge, which is a fundraiser for Special Olympics of Missouri, is coming up on Saturday, January 30. I’m heading up our Icy Dogs and would love to have staff and students join us. Students must be at least 10 years old to plunge. Students need to raise $50 to plunge and adults $75. Click the link below to sign up. Let me know if you have any questions.
A special thanks to all of you for making this first semester an AWESOME one in KSD! I appreciate all that you do for our students with special needs. Take time to unplug over the break and enjoy your friends and family. You deserve it!
