LOU GEHRIGS DISEASE

Luo Gehrig was born in 1903 his family were imagrants from Germany. In his youth he was a baseball player for the Yankees and played 17 uninterupted seasons, until his 36th birthday on june 19th 1939. He was diagnosed with ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis wich is a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
how does this effect one's body
A.L.S makes it near impossible to control almost every limb and motor skill in your body. Lou Gehrig started with a small version of A.L.S these symptomes didnt effect him till he was in his early to mid 20s this disease eventually caused an early death on his birthday in 1939. Other symptomes are limping spazms seasures cant talk disabled motor skills.

what causes the disease
CAUSE
A.L.S is believed to be caused by a defective gene that prevents the body from producing a normal amount of an enzyme called superoxide dismutase. Some cases are a birth defect or can be inherited but no one knows how yet.
