Information Updates
Happy "Spring" Landshark Nation!
It is hard to believe we are in the home stretch of the school year! While May is here, there are many important things happening at the school. Please be sure to check out the IMPORTANT DATES section below for a complete list.
This week we were honored with our guest author: Tracy Guan, who wrote Lunch with Samnang. Each Kindergarten and first grade student were all provided with a copy of her book. How wonderful when we can expose our students to local authors, that represent the rich cultures and diversity that comprise our school community and city! I have included a few photos below.
Our Lincoln Baseball Club (LBC) is in full swing with students enjoying the developing of their baseball skills and being part of a team beyond the school day! We hope they are enjoying it as much as Mr. Jones and Mr. McDonough are. Such a great opportunity for our third graders!
Monthly we continue to recognize our WALL OF FAME students. The children have seats of honor on the stage as their peers are able to clap and celebrate their distinctions. In addition, the children all received certificates, filled pencil boxes and a t-shirt in addition to having their photos hanging in our main lobby. We are so proud of them for ACCEPTING THE CHALLENGE every day by showing their GRIT, DETERMINATION AND PERSEVERANCE! These are all of the qualities we have and will continue to honor and and discuss with our learners as attributes of a LINCOLN LANDSHARK! We post all of the pictures of the students online and to our social media. We hope they enjoy their new t-shirts with their names on the back!
Students have also been EARNING blue "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" tickets from their teachers and staff throughout the building. Monthly, we hold a drawing with these tickets they have earned for demonstrating qualities associated with a Lincoln Landshark. Last month we raffled off two bikes, this month we raffled off 2 scooters. Next month we are raffling off 2 additional scooters! Remember- we TEACH our students that HARD WORK PAYS OFF!
As a reminder, the students do go outside EVERYDAY, when the weather permits. Please be sure to dress your students for OUTSIDE play, this includes shoes/sneakers they can run and play in. Thank you for your assistance with this. The fresh air is good for everyone!
We couldn't do this without you. Thank you for your partnership in our school, with our staff and for our students! We look forward to seeing you at our many events as this school year comes to an end.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Together in Education,
Mrs. Ginger Coleman, Principal
