A Note From The Principal
I can hardly believe the summer has ended. However, I’m super excited about the brand new 2020-21 school year. Classes will resume virtually on Tuesday, August 11th. We are prepared for your arrival. Please make sure you click on the links in this newsletter. Your teachers and I have put together a video welcoming you back.
Just in case you missed our previous newsletters we have also placed important updates regarding technology pick up dates and time, virtual classroom expectations, dress code and your class schedule in this newsletter.
Welcome back again and remember we are all in this together. Stay Safe!
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Sue Starr
Virtual Learning Information
This week we have been finalizing our plan for virtual learning. Classes will be held each day virtually. For the first week, class will be conducted via Zoom sessions. These classes will be focused around teaching the scholars how to use and navigate our Blackboard Virtual Learning system. Classes will continue on August 17 in our Blackboard system.
An entire description of our virtual learning plan can be found in the link below. Please read it carefully and thoroughly. Information about how to access each grade level's zoom, daily schedules, scholar expectations, and tech support can be found here. A physical copy will be given to you next week when you pick up your scholar's device(s).
Device Pick Up
Devices will be distributed on August 10-12. August 10 devices will be available for pickup from 2pm to 6pm. On August 11, devices will be available for pickup from 8am to 6pm. On August 12, devices will be available for pickup from 8am to 6pm. Please start making plans to come in one of these three days to receive your device so your scholar can join their class daily. If you participated in Summer Advantage and were provided with a device, you will continue to use that device this school year and there is no need to pick up a device.
We are requiring that families pay a $20 refundable insurance payment per device (capped at $40 per family). When picking up your device, we can take your payment through cash or credit card. If you are unable to pay, accommodations will be made to ensure your scholar will still receive their device.
Scholars in grades K-2 will receive an iPad and scholars in grades 3-8 will receive a Chromebook.
