STUDENT CLASS SCHEDULES - UPDATE!
Thank you students and families for your cooperation and understanding as we work to fill all the new sections we have added. We are confident that these sections will relieve the larger class sizes and lend to a classroom environment more conducive to student learning across the board. Again, we truly apologize for the inconvenience but feel fortunate to be able to expand our offerings to accommodate all our students.
Also, a quick reminder that the last day to request a schedule change is September 8th. Please remember that schedule changes are based on availability of courses and are not a guarantee.
Drop offs and Parking at CCMS
THANK YOU, PARENTS!
Your cooperation with student drop-off and parking has been noticed and is very much appreciated. I am so proud to have such a wonderful community respond to our appeal. I have seen SO MANY parents walking with their kids to school! It's truly a community effort. Way to go!
Just a reminder of where to go and what to do...
For drop-offs: We highly recommend that you use the bridge entrance on Ocean Drive (off Overland) to drop off your student . Your student can then walk across the bridge and head directly into the Middle School. Many of our families already do this to avoid the slow-moving lines on Elenda. Furthermore, to ensure the safety of our students, we will have security personnel directing traffic and overseeing the safe entrance to campus for all our Panthers.
For parking: Since the school lot will only be accessible to CCUSD personnel, we highly encourage you to park and walk or, better yet, take on our 3 Block Challenge. Park near Coombs or Vets Park and enjoy a crisp morning walk.
The optimal solution: Walk, bike, skate, or roll to school. We have a lovely bike rack to secure your bike, skateboard or scooter. Please make sure you bring your locking device with you! We are a proud Green Ribbon school and welcome all our students and families to enjoy the health and wellness benefits of a little exercise in the morning, and get the added bonus of helping to minimize our environmental impact!
word of the week
CCMS begins its "Word of the Week" this Tuesday with the word ACHIEVE: verb \ə-ˈchēv\ : 1. to carry out successfully : ACCOMPLISH achieve a gradual increase in production. 2: to get or attain as the result of exertion: REACH achieved a high degree of skill; achieved greatness. How many students will achieve 100% on their math test this week?
Families, join us as we focus on our Word of the Week. Ask your student what they hope to achieve this week or what achievements they will strive for in their middle school career.
