Y'all! It is only 13 more days! I am so happy and sad right now. These little people are forever in my heart. I hope we can make the next 13 days memorable and fun. They have worked very hard!
If any of you do not want your child to watch Cars or Charlotte's Web please email me and let me know. Alternate arrangements can be made.
We had another wonderful grandparent surprise as our mystery readers! Olin's grandparents came. We enjoyed cookies and fun stories. They were delightful and the grin on Olin's face was huge! Thank you so much for coming!
We will have one final spelling test next Monday, May 23. Look for the words to come home this Monday.
Field Day is from 8:15-10:30. I need to know if your child is ordering a sack lunch from the cafeteria by Thursday. Our class will start at station #10, which will be the far back, right hand corner of the big field. You are welcome to join us, just stop in the office for a visitor's badge first. I have actually seen parents escorted off for not having their badge. :) They may wear hats, their green monster shirts (will be sent home on Wednesday) and carry a water bottle labeled with their name on it for field day. Mr. Restuccia always does an amazing job with this. I have lived through many pe teachers and he is the best of the best. If you have a moment to express your gratitude please do. Many times the fine arts teachers are forgotten in the mix and he truly deserves some recognition.
They are so hot coming in from recess and really craving some snacks. Please help me by sending in water bottles and snacks (more than 1). Thank you! They are getting headaches from going from heat and humidity to the air conditioned building, so I know a little snack and lots of water will help.
Have a great week!
April McGhee
WHAT WE'VE BEEN LEARNING
Language Arts-We read The Mysterious Tadpole and did some writing about what would hatch from a magic stone if we had one. We continue to practice our grammar, comprehension and good sounding reading. Ask them about popcorn reading and why its important.
Science-We are studying animals. They have looking at how different animals are made so that they can live in different environments. Dinosaurs and fossils have been a fun way to help explain it.
