News and Notes

Dear Transfiguration Families,

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to enjoy the day off.

Picture day is Monday, October 25th. Flyers are going home today. As we did last year, all orders will be done online.

As we are beginning our second month of school, I wanted to send a few reminders for car line drop off:

  • Parents should not get out of the car.
  • If your PK or K child needs help getting unbuckled, quickly hop out and unbuckle. Do not walk them to their line.
  • Your child should be ready with shoes on, things in hand, backpack ready so they can get out once their temperature is taken.
  • Please wait until you have gotten to the drop off zone to let your child out of the car (this is after the turn by the playground, parallel to where the children are standing).
  • Keep the line moving.

Thank you to everyone who diligently follows these rules and works to keep the line moving and the children safe. For pickup, remember that I am out there until 2:40 so you do not need to wait in the long line. PK/K pickup is 2:15-2:25 only.

Have a great week,

Ms. Kazan

Big picture

Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner! Students will be able to dress up in their Halloween costumes on Friday, October 29th. We will not have a parade this year, but the students will celebrate Halloween in their classrooms. Please remember that this is a school day so students' costumes cannot impede their movement, vision, etc.

*As you begin to plan for Halloween Costumes, please keep the following standards in mind:

-no scary, gory or inappropriate costumes (ask teacher/principal if you are unsure)

-no costumes that depict inappropriate characters or characters that are not positive examples for children in the world today

-no evil villains of any kind (so Batman is ok but NOT the Joker for example)

-no masks/face coverings or full face paint

-no props that depict weapons of any kind

-skirts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee

-students MUST wear sneakers with their costumes SO if the character normally wears sandals, for example, your child MUST wear sneakers anyway.

- No blow up Halloween costumes
