Short Week Alert
Parents,
We are hitting some significant milestones this short week. On Thursday, our class rank for seniors should be locked and our valedictorian and salutatorian will be determined. Next week starts the first round of student testing.
One of the things that I always pride myself on is knowing my students, and I don't mean just their names (I'm working on that--Hayley and Carter at McAllister's can attest). Do I really know what it is like to be a high school student at McKinney High School? Quite honestly, a lot has changed since I was a high school student in the early '90s. I would like to know what students experience on a daily basis so I can help make sure our decisions are in the best interest of students. Therefore, I am having a little contest: If your student would like for me to walk in their shoes for a day, please have them (in 50 words or less) write or type why I should be them for a day. Two winners will be chosen by an impartial panel of judges. In order to be fair, please have your student omit their name on the essay but include their ID number. All completed essays should be given to my assistant, Jenny Cope, by next Monday, March 28th. This should be fun.....
Sincerely,
Gordon Butler
