- Report cards and progress reports will be posted on ParentVue on Friday, June 14th.
- If you need anything over the summer, make sure you check our website before dropping by to make sure we are open. We are generally open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Here are a few tips to make your summer learning fun:
We hope you have wonderful plans (even if you're not traveling anywhere) for your family to enjoy precious time this summer. We do want to remind you that it is important to also spend 30-60 minutes a day on some academics to prevent that summer slide. According to the National Summer Learning Association, your student can lose up to 2 months of learning if you don't do any academics this summer. But don't worry, here are some ways to make the learning fun!
- Check out your teacher's website next week for ideas about keeping your skills fresh in a fun way this summer
- Visit the public library for their summer reading program--they have lots of incentives
- Have weekly Family Game Night (Jenga, Monopoly, Scrabble, Clue, etc.)
- Build with anything! Creative construction helps develop STEM skills
- Plant something (draw a plan, measure your plants, graph their growth, write poems, etc.)
- Incorporate math into any game and ask questions that naturally come out of playing these games (i.e. who had the most, least, how many did we have together, how many are still left, how many more do you have, etc.)
- Make a scrapbook or a video scrapbook of your summer
- Cook together
- Go on a nature walk
- Stay active
- Write a letter or email to your teacher, grandparent, aunts and uncles, cousins, pen pal, friend who moved away, your administrators, etc.
