Haiku Deck and 30 Hands: Two Free Apps to be Thankful For
Join Lisa for an Informal iPad App Hands-on Activity
Haiku Deck and 30 Hands are two free apps that have great classroom potential. Come join Lisa to participate in a hands-on project to learn the basics of both of them as you practice an "attitude of grattitude." In the spirit of the recent Thanksgiving holiday, we will make a sample project about thankfulness using a combination of these two apps. To end the session, we will brainstorm some other ways this project can be used to support instruction in our classrooms.
3:30 - 4:30 pm December 3 or December 4
December 3 Location: Sabetha Elementary School Library
December 4 Location: Wetmore Academic Center Library Computer Lab
What To Do Before You Come?
Download Haiku Deck and 30 Hands from the App Store
Make sure that you have both the free apps downloaded before you come so we can jump right in to the exciting part of creating when we meet! If you have time, log in to each app and create an account . . . Be sure to write down any passwords you choose!
Reflect: What Are You Grateful For?
Grab a sticky note and think for a few minutes. What are some of the things in your life that you have to be grateful for? Make a list of five things that you're thankful for and bring them along. We'll be using them to create a sample project using these two apps. If you have an opportunity to take a photo of something to represent what you're grateful for, do so using the iPad camera.
Encourage a Colleague to Join You!
Learning is always more fun when you're learning with a friend! Offer to buy your pal a soda if they'll join you. If they don't think they want to participate hands-on, they can come and just observe, too!
Guaranteed to be Relaxing and Fun!
