Who am I???
Fast forward 22 years to a conversation I just had during Frisco By Foot with a husband of one of our moms. I began talking to him while doing something else, and he was holding his adorable daughter. I knew that he looked familiar, but I just couldn't place whose husband he was and since he had grown out his hair since the last time I saw him, he did look slightly different. Fortunately he was wearing his servant leader name tag so I did catch a glimpse of his last name. With a smile on my face I said, "are you So & So's husband"? He politely responded, "yes I'm her husband" and then followed it up with, " its so funny how I'm now only known as So & So's husband". But from his response, I could hear the pride and honor in having that title.
Never get lost in who you are or who you used to be because no matter what, who you always will be is a child of the most high and HE will always be proud of losing his identity for us.
Great is our Lord, and abundance in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:5
Mommy moment with Jamie Lynn Harris
I was checking out at Aldi the other day, with my 2 little girls. I was frantically trying to bag my groceries and get out of there. Alexis and Annabelle were sitting in the front of the cart and were fighting and pushing on each other. I felt like everyone at the checkout was watching us. Right about that time, a women stopped me and said, "I just wanted to tell you how well behaved your little girls are! It is so hard to go to the store with little ones, and yours are just sitting there so nicely." I think my jaw hit the floor! She then went on to tell me that she had 7 kids! Sometimes, I need to take a step back and just look at my kids. To me, it may look like they are misbehaving, but to everyone else, they are just a 2 and 4 year old helping Mommy go grocery shopping.
Prayer Corner
Remember that whatever you’re going through, God will grow you through. Our lives are full of different seasons. Some seasons last weeks, some months. Some are cloudy and cold, others filled with shining sun and soft breezes. I’m not talking about weather here ladies, I’m talking about life! I am in love with the fact that God is by my side during each one of these different times in my life. And He’s right by your side too. So if you’re in a gloomy season right now, or a bright one let’s just thank God for the growth he’s allowing us to have. And for always being Him, the great I am!
Lord, thank you now for the seasons, the joys, the trials and every single moment you already have planned in our lives. Thank you for the lessons you have set ahead for us, give us the wisdom and clarity to distinguish your guidance in our lives. Give us the strength to be the moms you created us to be. We love you, we praise you, Amen.
Kid's prayer corner
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
God has created the season and the reason! As we’re heading into the beautiful season of spring talk to your kids about how God has each season planned, not only in the weather and our beautiful earth but also in our lives! Sometimes we’ll have sad times “seasons” and other times, we’ll have happy times. Just like the changing weather, we’re going to face changes. He created every season for a purpose. But know that the greatness is that God and His love for us is NEVER changing!
