"Out of My Heart" Melody, the huge-hearted heroine of Out of My Mind, is a year older, and a year braver. Now with her Medi-talker, she feels nothing's out of her reach, not even summer camp. There have to be camps for differently-abled kids like her, and she's going to sleuth one out. A place where she can trek through a forest, fly on a zip line, and even ride on a horse! A place where maybe she really can finally make a real friend, make her own decisions, and even do things on her own--the dream! - From the Publisher | "Seven Golden Rings: A Tale of Music and Math" In ancient India, a boy named Bhagat travels to the Rajah's city, hoping to ensure his family's prosperity by winning a place at court as a singer. Bhagat carries his family's entire fortune--a single coin and a chain of seven golden rings--to pay for his lodging. But when the innkeeper demands one ring per night, and every link snipped costs one coin, how can Bhagat both break the chain and avoid overpaying? His inventive solution points the way to an unexpected triumph, and offers readers a friendly lesson in binary numbers--the root of all computing. - Amazon | "Can You See Me?" Starting middle school is a daunting prospect for anyone, but for Tally, who is autistic, it is terrifying. Every day is a struggle for her as she navigates the social structure, tries to decipher idioms that make no sense to her literal mind, and endures overwhelming sensory input. Her best friend, Layla, the only other student who knows about Tally's autism, provides as much support as possible, but Tally's unconventional behavior puts a strain on the friendship. This third-person narrative is punctuated by Tally's first-person journal, where she discusses different aspects of autism, such as meltdowns, stimming, and masking, without disrupting the page-turning narrative. - Booklist, April 2020 |

How to View Your Library Book Check-outs
Did you know that any library patron (students, teachers, staff) can view what they have checked out from our school library? Watch this short video on How-to-View Your Library Book Checkouts to learn an easy way to verify whether your books are soon-to-be due or overdue. All 1st - 5th grade students are shown this feature at the beginning of the school year, but some forget that this feature is available to them through ClassLink.
Also, all families with overdue books should be receiving an email notification from Destiny, our online media catalog. This email arrives on Sunday, to give you time to locate and send the books back to school with your child.
