The first grade lemonade stand that benefited the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was a huge success! The first graders raised $900 that will be donated to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Way to go 1st grade students!

Mark your calendars...May 22, 2023 is the LAST hot lunch!

Next Thursday is Spring OPEN HOUSE! An evening where you can stop by the school anytime between 5:30-7:00. During the evening you can:

• Visit your child's classroom to view collected work or participate in a classroom activity
• View artwork around the school and in the library
• Purchase books at the Anderson Book Fair in the gym
• Buy Erickson Spirit Wear in the gym
• Buy Bake Sale items in the lobby. WE NEED BAKED ITEMS: If you can donate items for the bake sale email: ericksonpto13@gmail.com. Kids can bring the baked goods to school the morning of May 25th or drop off anytime before Portfolio Night.

Field Day is Friday June 2nd. The PTO will provide a hot dog to all full day students, a popcorn snack (Popcorn Brand: Smartfood white cheddar popcorn), and popsicles (Popsicle Brand: Bomb Pops or similiar to this type) to each class. Parents should still pack additional lunch items to ensure students are nourished after a day of playing outside. Parents with concerns about food allergies should have their children bring their own lunch and snack.

Parents are welcome to stop by during the outside events on Field Day between 9:00-11:30 and 1:00-2:30. If you do decide to stop by, you will need to have an ID BADGE guest pass. Please stop by the office to pick up a badge. You will need your driver's license if you have never been scanned into our system before. We can preprint badges. Click here to have a pre-printed ID BADGE ready for you on Field Day.

Teacher Appreciation Week...THANK YOU to all the families for showering staff with cards, drawings, flowers, etc. this week! Thank you to the PTO for purchasing lunch for all the teachers on Friday. We are so lucky to have such a supportive parent community!

REGISTRATION for the 2023-2024 School Year is NOW OPEN for ALL families. See registration flyer below. Please register early as this helps with the class planning process. June 1st is the registration deadline for the 23-24 school year.

The 4th grade Beginner Band Parent Information Open House will be held on Tuesday, 5/23/23 at Erickson Elementary School in the gym. The hours are 4:30 to 7:00 pm. Parents can stop by at their convenience to learn about the program, register their student for band, and to rent their band instrument for next year.

Parents that are unable to attend need to contact Mrs. Metzger at smetzger@sd13.org to get further information on how to register their student for band.

Birthdays are very special, especially for our elementary students. If your child has a summer birthday during the following days, this is when his/her birthday will be announced at school:

From the Finance Department:

We are excited to announce that our new online fee payment system is now My School Bucks (MSB)

MSB is not live at the time of this notice, but invoicing for the 2023-2024 school year will take place sometime in May and payments are due in FULL by September 1, 2023. You will receive an email from MSB when the registration fee is applied to your student(s) account(s). If you think you would qualify for a fee waiver for 2023-2024 school year, complete this form and return it to the Business Office by September 1, 2023.

MSB is a user-friendly online payment system with a single sign on. You will be able to create an account, add your student(s) and see ALL of your students in that one account.

Westfield Families: Along with the registration fee, incoming 8th grade students will have their graduation fee applied to their account to be paid at the beginning of the school year. Sixth grade students will have their lock fee applied to their account to be paid at the beginning of the school year.

PTO EVENTS

• Book Fair: We are excited to have our book fair again. Stop by the library during the Spring Open house on May 25th and shop with your child(dren). The book fair is available only on May 25th between the hours of 5pm-7pm.

• Bake Sale: We are having the bake sale during the Spring Open house between 5-7pm. Bring cash donations for the Erickson PTO and pick up a delicious treat to take home!

• Our next PTO meeting will be in August!

PTO FUNDRAISERS

• Our next dine out is at Raising Cane on May 25, 2023 from 4pm-10pm and 15% of all sales will be donated to Erickson PTO. Come out and support the school before or after Erickson’s Spring Open House at the school. See attached flyer for more info!

PTO UPDATES

• Calling all bakers! May 25th is the Spring Open House and we are looking for bakers to donate baked goods that we can use for the Erickson Bake Sale. We had such a great selection last year and we sold out quickly. Please email ericksonpto13@gmail.com if you are able to help us out with baked goods or have questions!

• THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS THIS YEAR! We could not have made it this school year without all of your support. We are in the home stretch of this school year! We are looking for the following chairs/co-chair positions to be filled for the next school year:

Please take the time to review the Erickson Family Handbook. Each class will meet with Mrs. Frattinger and myself to discuss school rules and procedures. Ask your student how to SOAR in the hallways, in the classroom, on the bus and during recess.

The first full day of school is Thursday August 25th, for students in first - fifth grade. Kindergarten & Preschool students start school on Monday, August 29th. Students may arrive between 8:25-8:40. Classes begin at 8:40.

School Hours:

Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30

Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30

Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30

Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20

Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20

Lunch Hours:

1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:00-12:25

4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50

Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Students should bring their lunch in the morning to school each day. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: Click here to learn about arrival and dismissal procedures for the 2022-2023 school year. Families should utilize the side parking lot for pick-up and drop-off. The front parking lot is designated for buses only. Morning arrival is between 8:25am-8:40am. Staff begin to supervise students at 8:25 am. Grades K and 4-5 will enter through the front doors. Grades 1-3 will enter through the side of the building. Students will begin to enter the school at 8:35 and go directly to their classrooms. School beings at 8:40.

If you are interested in ordering another Pillar Shirt, please fill out this PILLAR SHIRT ORDER FORM and send $10 in a marked envelope "PILLAR SHIRT" with your child. A new Pillar Shirt will be delivered to your child once the money is received. Please fill out one form per child.
