13 Reasons Why

By: Jay Asher

In this mystery novel, high school student Clay Jenson receives a set of cassette tapes on his front stoop and has no idea why. He soon finds out that those cassette tapes will explain the suicide of Hannah Baker, his classmate. He has no clue why he is on the tapes but, along with 12 others he is. The book will take you on a journey of what Hannah went through leading up to her suicide and you get to feel Clay's emotions as he listens to Hannah's last words.

I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's very emotional and easy to get caught up in what's going on. The story line is elaborate and really does take you on Hannah's journey. Overall I think it is a great book. However, I was disappointed with the ending.

I would recommend this book to you if you're a fan of Mystery. The book is slightly confusing until towards the end when majority of the story makes sense. You also may like this book if you are into Realistic Fiction. Everything in this story could happen in real life and I think you'd really like it if you can relate to hardships of bullying or rumors.
