Dearest Wildcats,

Congrats on your fourth week completion of school!

We have our next big event coming up on September 22nd. On this day, we open our house up again and our kids can show their parents around school. Please read the "Open House" section and get prepared for this event. I have also sent all of you a google doc entitled OPEN HOUSE that explains everyone's duty. Together we make our kids experiences GREAT!

Also, some of you have been invited to the Mentor/Buddy Cafe on Monday- this is a relaxing little cafe where you can ask any question you have, prepare for something, or just sit down and have a Keurig coffee and a snack. Look out for the invitation sent out by Mrs. Luna.

As we look ahead, if you haven't already done so, please sign up for Dr. Muri's Staying Connected Visit for Tuesday, August 27th at 3:30-4:30. There will be no afterschool on this day.

Finally, the Taco Truck Man needs more business. If we want him to keep coming on Thursdays, he needs us to buy more from him. If he doesn't drum enough $$ from us- well, he is moseying on over to more profitable pastures. So, buy a taco or tamale. He usually arrives from 7:00-7:30.

Otherwise, keep doing your best everyday and remember- ask, ask, ask.

If you need our assistance, please let us know!

Thrive with Wildcat Love,

Rachel & Cindy

Superhero kind of Year!

This month we are focusing on the character trait- "Patience.."

Take time to read any of these read aloud books that focus on patience during English Development time.

https://www.librarything.com/tag/patience

http://childrenbooklists.com/category/patience/

Students who are patient are:

...calm

...relaxed

...respectful

...understanding

Teach the importance of patience by:

...waiting your turn in line without complaining

...setting a goal and showing endurance while working towards that goal

...putting together a 100-piece puzzle

...discussing things you have to wait to do

Remember:

Being patient means being able to practice self-control.

Being patient means being calm when things don’t go your way.

Being patient means waiting for your turn.

Being patient means not complaining or whining while you endure a tough situation.

Being patient means you don’t give up, and you keep trying.

Being patient means putting off immediate pleasure or desire for some future gain.

Being patient means being able to forgive others and yourself.
