Orange Lotus
The student group Orange Lotus-Youth Advocates for Community Change has been working this year to understand and address a gap that is present among their peers and learning community. Orange Lotus' mission this year has been to address Youth Mental Health. With their efforts, support of their learning community, and the greater Manitowoc Community, the group will be delivering a four-part Mental Health Education series during Youth Mental Health Awareness Week and National Prevention Week!
Questions, please contact Mr. Thao, thaos@mpsd.school or Ms. Schieldt, schieldtk@mpsd.school.
Community Opportunity Over Spring Break
- Here is an opportunity for all Manitowoc County residents to have their voices heard about what is needed to make Manitowoc a healthier place for all. The Manitowoc Community Health Online Survey has launched! The survey is open until June 1st - it should only take 5 minutes to complete. The primary audience for the survey is you, your colleagues, your staff, your friends, and your networks.
- Lakeshore Cap is offering Cafe style course that families are invited to participate in. Here is a flyer with more information.

News To Share
- Lost and Found: Our lost and found table, located in the office, is overflowing again. We have lots of winter coats, hats and sweatshirts that are looking for their owner. Please ask your learner to come to the office and look for anything that they have lost.
- Lost Students: The purpose of school is learning. Learning happens in our classrooms Most students are already in the habit of being in class. Our students know that they must have the student planner signed by a teacher as their hall pass permission. For a few who are causing distraction by leaving without permission, we will be giving one warning, contacting families if the problem persists and issuing citations for loitering. To prevent students leaving class, our school resource officer, Sgt. Krock will be patrolling hallways on an increased frequency. Thank you for helping us focus on learning by inviting students to stay in class during learning time.
- Cell Phones- If students bring their cell phones to school, our policy is that cell phones need to be kept in student's locker for the duration of the day. If students do not follow this policy they will be asked to put their cell phone in their locker or the cell phone will be brought to the office. We are asking loved ones to remind students of this policy.
