Spring Picture Day Coming Soon
Our picture day ID is: EVTHWJMS7
Gwinnett County Public Schools needs your input on two School Board policies.
To gather your feedback, the school district is using a tool called ThoughtExchange. All of our voices matter, so your participation is crucial and valued.
- Click here to provide your thoughts regarding the district’s discipline policy. (This exchange will close on Monday, March 14, at 11:59 p.m.)
- Click here to provide your thoughts regarding the policy that deals with public participation in Board meetings. (This exchange will close on Monday, March 14, at 11:59 p.m.)
When you select each link above, you'll be asked to respond to one open-ended question, consider and assign stars to some of the ideas shared by others (20 to 30 is ideal), and learn what's important to the group.
Your thoughts and stars are confidential. You can come back as often as you'd like to participate and, in fact, we ask that you do come back to star (or rate) some of the new ideas shared since you first participated. The ratings will help us understand the most important areas to focus on.
We welcome your comments, including constructive criticism. We also strive for as much transparency as possible; however, we recognize the need to ensure the conversation is safe and respectful. As such, GCPS makes use of ThoughtExchange's automated moderation that reviews items before public posting. More on the moderation criteria appears within the exchanges and on the GCPS ThoughtExchange webpage.
If you need technical help, please call ThoughtExchange at 1-800-361-9027 ext. 4 or email help@thoughtexchange.com.

Mask Guidance
On Friday, February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance and the prevention steps that should be taken based on the spread of COVID-19 in communities. Click here for the CDC guidance and the prevention steps. As part of the changes announced, the CDC is dropping its recommendation for universal school masking and instead will recommend masking only in communities at a high level of risk.
According to the CDC, Gwinnett County is currently in a “Low” level of community spread. At this level, individuals are encouraged to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and to get tested if they have symptoms.
In light of this updated guidance and Gwinnett County’s designation in the “Low” level of community spread, Gwinnett County Public Schools will transition from requiring masks to strongly recommending the use of masks in its facilities.
In the coming days, school district leaders will be reviewing and updating quarantine and isolation procedures to account for these changes.
Visitors to Our School
As most of you know, we have updated guidance on mitigation processes for GCPS. Please review the following very carefully.
- Masks are no longer required but recommended.
- Students are not required to wear masks on the school bus.
- All classes began eating lunch in the cafeteria on March 1.
- Beginning March 7th, volunteers and lunch visitors will once again be welcomed to school as prior to the pandemic. See below for further information.
Volunteers:
Parents who wish to volunteer should work with teachers to schedule times. The teacher will provide the office with times so that you are expected. Once again, volunteers must be scheduled by the teacher in advance.
Lunch Visitors:
We need your help on this one. It has been a while since parents have been invited to eat with students. We will not be able to handle a rush of parents in the cafeteria on Monday. There will not be space or food for everyone to come at once. So, for at least the first two weeks, we will have a schedule by the first letter of your child's last name. Please see below:
- A - E March 7, March 14
- F - J March 8, March 15
- K - O March 9, March 16
- P - T March 10, March 17
- U - V March 11, March 18
Here are some reminders for lunch visitors:
- You must show your ID at the front office and wear a visitor sticker for the duration of your visit.
- Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your child's scheduled lunch period and wait for your child's class at the cafeteria door.
- You must eat with your child at the separate parent tables or the blue picnic tables outside in the back of the cafeteria.
- Please do not ask your child's friends to join you at the parent table.
- Please do not video or take pictures of students in the cafeteria.
- Please do not bring fast food or soda into the cafeteria.
- When lunch is over, please do not follow your child to class or out onto the playground. Return to the lobby for check out.
- Please do not try to have a parent conference with a teacher during lunch. Enjoy the time with your child.
- Also, please do not bring snacks for students in the class. This includes birthday snacks. If you wish to purchase ice cream for the class on your child's birthday, money needs to be sent in the morning by 9:15 am.
Full Adult Lunch $3.75
Main Item only $3.00
All Sides .40
Adults purchasing lunch should bring exact change. Credit and Debit Cards are not accepted.
We look forward to once again seeing our parents in the building.

Birthday Celebration Policy
Just a reminder of our birthday celebration policy. This can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook as well.
Birthday Celebrations
Because of allergies, students wishing to have a treat for their class should use the Ice Cream plan. This plan provides ice cream for every student in the class for $1 per student. Birthday parties are not allowed at school. Balloons, flowers, etc. cannot be delivered to children at school or taken home on the bus. Party invitations may not be distributed at school.
If you will ask the teacher how many students are in the classroom, you can send in money and let the teacher know which day that week you would like to purchase ice cream for the entire class in honor of your student's birthday. The students all get to choose which ice cream they would like and they receive it at lunch that day. Thank you for your understanding.
