The Lion's Share
Back to School 2018
A Message from the Principal:
Good morning,
I hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic summer with friends and family. I also hope you were able to get out of the heat for a bit. I would like to welcome our new Settler's Point families, and welcome back all returning members of the Pride. I am so excited to begin my second year leading the dedicated staff here at Settler's Point, and continuing to build relationships with parents/community members. At Settler's Point, our school mission is to "ensure that all students are learning at a high level." To meet our goals we must prioritize family involvement, and personalize the education of our students to ensure that we are meeting their individual needs.
Please take the time to read this newsletter, as it's essential that we "hit the ground running" on August 2 (the first day of school). Additionally, ensure that we have a way to connect with you, as more information about our new parent pick up/drop off procedures, bell/lunch schedules, etc. will be coming home in the next couple weeks. Whether it's liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter, or ensuring your email address is current in Infinite Campus, it's imperative that we work together to ensure a successful school year.
I truly feel that it's my responsibility to serve the students, parents, and teachers of the Settler's Point community, so if there is something that I can do to help you and/or your child, please feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to seeing you all on Meet the Teacher Night!!

Changes to Traffic Pattern...
Essentially instead of coming in one driveway, and leaving through another, we will be having everyone turn right into and exit from the same drive way.
After working with many experts to come up with this plan, it will allow more cars to be held within our property (less on the street), cars will be further away from the bus entrance/exit, and create a more efficient system.
We will have increased signage for the first several weeks of school to help guide this transition. Additionally, we will be sending out maps in the coming weeks to give more information.

How to Stay Connected
As we partner with you to educate our students, we want to make information readily available. Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, ensure that your email is current in Infinite Campus, etc.
Additionally, we are adding some great GPS features to track where your child's bus is at any given time.

Dads' Club Book Drive
Our Dads' Club is conducting a "Book Drive" to help teachers add to their classroom library.
If you have any gently used books that you are willing to donate to your classroom teacher, it would be greatly appreciated. The more diverse reading options our teacher's have, the better we are able to match student interest.
If you have any questions about this event or how to get involved with Dads' Club, please use the following link:
