Crestwood School District updates - week of April 27-May 1
Crestwood SD teachers began enhanced virtual presence with our families on Monday, Apr 27
What will the enhancements look like?
CSD continues to endeavor to improve participation, rigor, and value within the broad guidelines of Enrichment and Review.
On April 27, we move forward with live and asynchronous teacher presence within either recorded video, or face to face check in meetings via Zoom or Google Meet software platforms. Your individual teacher will be providing you with either the recorded message or the day/time and the associated link to join the live meeting.
CSD is poised to transition to Planned Instruction seamlessly and the addition of a live and/or asynchronous presence ensures readiness to that transition.
When 7th gr students were asked “how can they be a light during COVID-19?” the connections and honesty make us smile!
Graduation 2020
SENIOR CLASS MEETING VIA ZOOM ON TUESDAY MAY 5 @ 2:30 PM TO RELEASE GRADUATION DETAILS.
Log in to the Google Classroom - 2020 Senior Class for the meeting link on Tuesday.
- Keep your eye on the SENIOR CLASS WEB PAGE for updates!
How will the 4th Quarter be graded?
- Pass/Fail grading approach will be utilized
- What constitutes a Passing grade?
- Participation - partial participation equates to Passing grade, as in - “we have heard from them during the week and they turned in something that was assigned” therefore they earned a passing grade of an A and entered as such for Q4 into Skyward.
- A failing grade would be for those that do not participate and have been consistently absent. A failing grade would be exceptionally rare and entered as an D for Q4 in Skyward
- K - 8 Pass/Fail staying in the enhanced enrichment model, continuing our strong encouragement to participate without making participation mandatory as credits do not accumulate toward graduation at these levels.
- 9 - 12 Pass/Fail in the enhanced enrichment model with mandatory participation as part of the grading requirement because they are counting credits toward graduation and scores are reported on transcripts.
Student of the Quarter
Carter Laubach was named Crestwood's Sophomore Student of the Quarter for the 3rd marking period. Carter is a member of the Crestwood Boys Basketball Program. Currently, he is an active member of Future Business Leaders of America where he competed and earned 1st Place in Accounting I for Region 16. Following graduation, Carter plans to attend college for a business related major.

Your effort has been rewarded as you are one of only 59 students at Crestwood who has earned this prestigious honor.
