Items Pick-Up & Drop-Off
Good afternoon, NMS community. There has surely been a lot of uncertainty surrounding this time in our lives and we do apologize for any confusion these uncertain times have brought you. Below we outline our strategy for getting your child’s personal items back into your hands, as well as how you will return school items such as textbooks, uniforms, and music equipment back to NMS. Please keep in mind this plan DOES NOT include the return of Chromebooks. If you were provided a Chromebook you are asked to keep them at this time.
Newtown Middle School distribution of student personal items and retrieval of school items will be as follows. Please note that the days are broken into AM and PM for teams and is further broken down for times by last name.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off Procedures
We ask that you follow your assigned time as this will help to maintain order. When arriving at the school, please be sure to follow the social distancing guidelines as well as be wearing a mask.
All exchanges will be handled outside, in front of the building. Please enter and park in the front of the building. All exchanges will take place outside the building at the main entrance and the athletic entrance. No student and/or parent will be permitted to go to the student lockers in the hall, or in the gym area. All items will be bagged up from those lockers and ready for pickup.
Textbook returns as well as the retrieval of your child’s personal items from both their gym locker and their homeroom locker will occur at the main entrance, in the front of the building. Please make sure that all textbooks are properly marked with your child’s name and teacher’s name within the space allocated inside the front cover.
Follow the arrows and markings on the sidewalk to maintain distance from one another.
NMS instrument exchanges and uniforms, as well as athletic uniforms, will be returned by the athletic entrance to the left of the main entrance. Again, please follow the guidelines and the markings on the sidewalk.
This is going to be a very busy several days and your cooperation and support with following these procedures is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to make your scheduled time you may ask a friend to assist you in dropping off and picking up your child’s items.
