Library Corner
LaCoste Book Fair was a HUGE success!!! It was great to see so many kids excited about the book fair and find books, posters, pens, etc that they were excited to purchase! We were able to purchase some of the books found at the fair for the LaCoste library as well. The proceeds of the book fair will go toward making the library and LaCoste elementary a great place to be! Thank you again!
YEARBOOK - REMOTE STUDENTS
Parent/Guardian of Remote Learners,
You should have received an email from the yearbook company Picaboo/Blossom on Thursday 4/8 requesting a portrait to add to our school yearbook. This is the second email sent. One was sent back in March but it may have ended up in your spam folder. Your portrait should be from the shoulders up and have a solid background, preferably white. The deadline to submit this portrait is April 20th, as we finalize yearbook edits for the year. We would love to include our remote learners in our school yearbook. If your remote learners returned to school after fall pictures were taken, Mrs. Lopez has been taking photos of them to include. If you have any questions email mary.lopez@mvisd.org.2020-2021 Yearbooks For Sale

Caught Being a Leader
Get Caught Reading!!
LaCoste Elementary students often go above and beyond! With that in mind, we love to acknowledge when they do. Reading is an important everyday activity. It shows great examples of the Leadership Habits we know are the foundation of our success. We like to “Catch Students Reading”. Examples of that would be; students independently choosing to read as a leisure activity or students achieving a reading goal they had set for themselves, like finishing their first chapter book or reading their first book independently.
In person learners AND remote learners are both included! Simply click and fill out the form below. Each week a name is randomly drawn from those submissions. Their name is displayed on a bulletin board in the library, mentioned in our morning campus announcements and posted in our S’mores newsletter. The student is also given a prize for their accomplishment. Prizes for remote learners will be mailed home.
If you have any questions please email maureen.geurin@mvisd.org.At LaCoste Elementary, our leaders stick together! So “Stay Sharp, and Get Caught Reading!”
Students who read “above and beyond” by choosing to read and surpassing reading goals, can be “Caught Reading” by staff and by family. A winner is selected randomly.
This week’s winner is Roman Soria!
Roman was caught by Mrs. Kempf practicing his word list at home!
So “Stay Sharp, and Get Caught Reading!”
