Please complete the Online Data Verification for the 2023-24 school year
It's time to update your student's information for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.
Please complete the Online Data Verification in ParentVUE for each of your students as soon as possible so we will have the most up-to-date information before the first day of school on September 5th.
Incorrect or outdated information prevents us from being able to contact you with important information and inhibits our ability to reach you in case of illness or emergency.
To update your information please see the directions below:
● If you already have a ParentVUE account, please log in and click the Online Data Verification button in the upper right-hand corner. Choose 'Begin New Registration' and complete the updates as requested.
● If you don’t yet have a ParentVUE account, please call the Bel Air office to receive your account activation key - 651-621-6300
Bus registration
If your child is entering kindergarten through 12th grade next year and will be a bus rider, you should have received an email about busing for the 2023-24 school year. Please read the email(s) carefully, as you will receive a personalized email for each student in your family with specific instructions. Detailed instructions for registration are also available at mvpschools.org/transportation.
If you did not receive an email or have any questions, contact the Transportation Department at 651-621-6027 or transportation@mvpschools.org.
Medications Need to be Picked Up by Thursday, June 8
Prescriptions cannot be stored at school over the summer. Medications left in the health office will be discarded unless prior arrangements have been made.
You may pick up your child's emergency medication or prescription medication in the Health Office during regular school hours. To make other arrangements, please contact the nurse in the Health Office at 651-621-6304. Prescription Epinephrine, inhalers, and over-the-counter medications will be sent home with your child on the last day of school.
A new Medication Authorization form is required at the beginning of each school year. You and your health care provider can complete new medication forms for the 2023-2024 school year during summer appointments! Please feel free to fax completed medication forms to 651-621-6305, or bring them to the health office during Meet Your Teacher in the Fall. You can find medication forms on the Mounds View Health Services website: https://www.moundsviewschools.org/Page/103 or please request a copy of the form from the health office prior to the end of the year.
Have a healthy and safe summer! Please remember seat-belts, bike helmets, and sunscreen will help keep your child safe this summer--we want to see everyone (except the 5th graders!) back at BelAir in September healthy, happy, and ready to learn!

Juneteenth Celebration
Join the City of Roseville for a celebration of Juneteenth. The holiday observes June 19, 1865, when slaves in Galveston, Texas were informed that they were free, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. There will be speakers, free food and free entertainment. Learn more at CityofRoseville.com/Juneteenth.
Strengthen relationships
Relationships are central to student success and development. According to the Minnesota Student Survey, Mounds View Public Schools students who feel teachers care about them are much less likely to experience anxiety and depressive symptoms and less likely to engage in substance use. Check out Search Institute to strengthen relationships at home and in the school.
Tickets on sale
Join friends of the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation the evening of Saturday, September 16, at the North Oaks Golf Club for the next installment of our annual fundraiser, Rock the School House. Tickets now on sale!
For over 35 years, our supporters have established an impactful legacy that has benefited generations of Mounds View Public Schools students by increasing access to school-owned music instruments, updated classroom technologies, parent and family engagement events, STEAM education, career and college exploration resources and scholarships for graduating seniors. We also welcome in-kind donations of goods, services and experiences for the event's silent and live auctions. Contact Jon at info@mvsef.org
Non-Academic Personal Property:
Students should not bring personal items such as toys, card collections, footballs, soccer balls or similar sports equipment to school. These items may be misplaced or stolen and can be a disruption to learning. If a teacher wishes to have students bring such items to school for a special event, parents will be notified. We appreciate your support.
Safety & Security: 5 things to know
Bel Air Elementary School takes safety and security seriously.
As a reminder:
Exterior doors are locked and should not be opened during the school day.
Students and visitors should only enter and exit through the controlled access main entrance - Door #1.
Prior to entry, visitors are asked to show a photo ID which is checked by a visitor management system.
Video camera systems are positioned at multiple entry points and are monitored during the school day.
Students and staff are asked to be proactive in reporting to administration all suspicious activities or any person who doesn't have a badge or seems out of place.
If you have questions or concerns about safety and security at Bel Air please contact principal Dawn Wiegand at 651-621-6303
5 facts to know about . . .
Transportation and Mounds View Public Schools
1. We contract transportation services with six different bus companies.
2. Bus drivers are not Mounds View Public Schools employees.
3. Like all bus companies, our transportation providers are experiencing a shortage of
drivers. We are working collaboratively with them to address the need for additional
drivers.
4. Late buses may be an occasional consequence of the driver shortage. We're sorry for
this, and we ask for patience as we work with the bus companies to find drivers.
5. At times, when routes need to be covered by different substitute drivers, times and route
consistency may vary.
To learn more about bus driving opportunities, please call 651-621-8900 or visit www.american-
trans.com.

Riding the Bus and Food/Drink
While riding the bus, students are expected to keep all food and drink in their backpacks. This expectation prevents choking incidents, exposure to life-threatening allergens, and promotes bus sanitation.
Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
