design technology
This year we had 3 teams enter into the 123 Tech Challenge, where teams of students think about a problem or issue within their school or community and design a digital solution.
This year Team Indigo have won the regional final, they are the top in the Taranaki/Manawatu region, and will go on into the National final.
The girls, Imogen Den-McKay, Lucy Hatchard, Caylin Weideman and Olivia Corin, decided as we don't have a library and they love reading, that they would create a online book club. You can go online and read a book and then complete different tasks, like a kahoot, about the book. It was a great way to get people into reading and made it easier for people to get books in the absence of a school library.
Puketapu School is really proud of their achievement.
Congratulations to the other two teams that also entered. You also put in the mahi with your entries.
This is the second time that Puketapu School has won the Taranaki/Manawatu regional final (and this is only our second time we have entered!)
Fingers crossed for a shot at winning the national title!

staff vs students
The final score was 28 - 19. A very physical game but the match was officiated well by Whaea Shaina and Alex Morrison.
Thanks to the students on the bench, Harlee Ruwhiu and Damion Paora, for keeping score.
Great game boys, see you in 10 years time for the rematch!
