Autism
Also known as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Doctors don't know how people get Autism. But they know that both parents and the environment play a role into a child who has Autism.
Scientists haven't found a cure for ASD. But there are ways to help it. Those with ASD can go to therapists to get help with their behavior, language, and lack of social interactions. Treatments and medications can help children with decreasing their tantrums and self injury, too.
This disorder usually is treated by using sensory exercises, therapies, and medications, like I've said before. These things are actually really important for people who do have ASD. My younger brother has Autism, and we did sensory exercises with him. An example of what we did were doing "The Wheel Barrow". It's where we made him lay on his stomach on the floor, pick up his feet and and he'd put his hands on the floor. We would move him around the house like this to calm him down either when he was angry or super excited and needed to be calmed.
