iPad Return Schedule for Fourth-Graders
Dear Fourth-Grade Parents/Guardians -
Around this time of the school year, we typically begin sharing communications about collecting district issued student learning devices. Your child will receive a new learning device in fifth-grade and our goal is to repurpose the current fourth-grade devices for future learning needs. To ensure District 103 has time to prepare our fleet of fourth-grade devices, we are asking all families of fourth-grade students to drop off their iPad at Half Day School, on the last day of school, Friday, May 29, 2020. Families should drop off iPads at the time associated with your child’s homeroom teacher. Below is the drop off schedule parents are asked to follow:
9:40 to 10:00 a.m. - Bichkoff, Graham
10:00 to 10:20 a.m. - Drazner, LaBelle
10:20 to 10:40 a.m. - Gordon, Reed
10:40 to 11:00 a.m. - Cosgrove, Rendl
When you arrive at Half Day School, we will do our best to maintain safe social distancing by implementing a drive up, curbside system. In order to keep everyone safe, please do not get out of your vehicle. Staff, properly protected, will come to you. We appreciate your anticipated patience during this unusual end of year process. More about other end of the year procedures will be forthcoming.
Prior to returning your child’s iPad, we are asking all parents/guardians to:
Remove all stickers and decals from the school issued case.
If there are any personal photos or videos you would like to save, please do so prior to the above collection date. Students will not receive the same device in Fall of 2020.
To save school work files to Google Drive, please refer to these student instructions.
Charge the iPad to 100%.
On May 29 during iPad drop off, the district will collect:
iPad
Complete iPad Case
Charging block and charging cord, if available. Students will get a new charging block and cord to use for fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade.
If our parents/guardians discover any damage to their child’s iPad, please complete This iPad Damages Form. Any repair/replacement fees will be applied to student accounts per our '19-'20 - 1:1 Participation Options, $50 for the first repair and up to 100% of costs for any additional repairs.
If any questions come up, please reach out to your Half Day School Technology Department at, hd_familytechsupport@d103.org.
