Around 85,000 extant species of molluscs are recognized. some of the more popular ones include the squid, octopus, snail, and the scallop. Mollusks include species that live in freshwater and on land. such as the snail and slug for the land and for the ones that live of the water include the clam, oyster, and much more. Mollusks have bilateral symmetry, although some Mollusks have lost their symmetry during development. Mollusks do not have a backbone and are cold blooded organisms, they are also carnivores.
