Mollusks

The molluscs or mollusks is the large phylum of invertebrate animals known as the Mollusca.

Around 85,000 extant species of molluscs are recognized. some of the more popular ones include the squid, octopus, snail, and the scallop. Mollusks include species that live in freshwater and on land. such as the snail and slug for the land and for the ones that live of the water include the clam, oyster, and much more. Mollusks have bilateral symmetry, although some Mollusks have lost their symmetry during development. Mollusks do not have a backbone and are cold blooded organisms, they are also carnivores.

Food

the types of food range from insects to fish depending on the organism. the most common eaten mollusks are oysters and scallops. Even humans can eat oysters. Edible molluscs are harvested from saltwater, freshwater, and the land, and include numerous members of the classes Gastropoda.
