A TAJ BRANCH Presentation
Around 85,000 extant species of molluscs are recognized. some of the more popular ones include the squid, octopus, snail, and the scallop. Mollusks include species that live in freshwater and on land. such as the snail and slug for the land and for the ones that live of the water include the clam, oyster, and much more. Mollusks have bilateral symmetry, although some Mollusks have lost their symmetry during development. Mollusks do not have a backbone and are cold blooded organisms, they are also carnivores.
A cephalopod is any member of the molluscan class Cephalopoda. Fishermen sometimes call them ink fish, referring to their common ability to squirt ink. they are carnivores so they eat fish and worms.
Gastropods, more commonly known as snails and slugs, are a large taxonomic class within the phylum Mollusca. Gastropods have the greatest numbers of named mollusks species. gastropods can be grazers, filter feeders or bottom feeders which are like plants fruit and algae, while carnivorous gastropods are scavengers or predators. Some gastropods eat decaying plants while some others eat dirt for minerals.
Cuttlefish are in the order Sepiida. They belong to the class Cephalopoda, which also includes squid, octopodes, and nautiluses. cuttlefish eat small mollusks like crabs, shrimp and fish. they're predators include dolphins, sharks, seals, and seabirds. the cuttlefish has a lifespan up to 1-2 years.
