What have we been up to?
In Bible, we've focused on "Being Sorry" whenever we're wrong (story of Jonah) and "Sharing with Others" (story of the boy who shared his lunch.)
We've enjoyed reading winter stories, writing about snow day fun and making paper snowmen. We studied about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the importance of what he did.
We discussed the tradition of Groundhog Day, predicting if he would see his shadow. (We were hoping he wouldn't.)
Our recent class read aloud book, Wagon Wheels, gave us some insight into the life of a pioneer family and the hardships and challenges they faced in a time much different from ours.
We've practiced using our map and globe skills.
In math, we continue 2 digit addition and subtraction strategies, working on basic math facts and enjoying a few math games and activities along the way.
We are beginning an in depth study about the Olympics, past and present: the history, traditions, events and athletes.
On Tuesday, Feb. 13th, our class Chapel program will be about "God's Love."
