What's Happening....

Just a note:

As my first year comes to an end, I cannot believe how quick it went by. I have learned so much from each of my students and I will miss them greatly. I thank you as parents for helping me get through this year, it hasn't been easy, but I am overwhelmed with the support you have given me. I hope my students will come back and visit, I will never forget my 21 students I had this year.

May 18: Annual Read In

May 19: Play Day: Wear Tennis Shoes and Sunscreen

May 20: Last day of School...Talent Show at 10am and it is an Early Release at 1:10

Not that anyone is going to be thinking about it starts on August 18th.

*Now until the end of the year we will be working on finding the cause and effect in articles or events that have happened in history.

* We will also continue to work on fluency and really digging into books. (asking questions, making predictions and connections, etc.)

Book Report: Due May 15th.

*There will be NO MORE weekly fluency going home or monthly reading logs.

***Your child will be receiving information for their book report. They had a couple different options to work with. This does not have to be a chapter book, but if it is, if it is I would hope they just started it, and can finish it before the deadline. I also hope it is a book on their level. If you have any questions please let me know.

* We will be doing lots of fun mini writing projects to finish out the school year.

~What we are most looking forward to as summer rolls around.

~Talking and writing about inspirational quotes.

~If you could be anyone or anything for a day, what would you be and why?

~Creating our own Fairy Tales

During the next two chapters in math we will move a little quickly to have them done by the end of the year.

*Chapter 10 is about different ways to collect data and read it.

*Chapter 11 is about shapes and fractions.

I just want to let you know on Monday we always take a spelling pretest. Your child gets diamond or square based on their performance. We take a post test every Friday.

*I sent home Quarter 4 words with each child. This is for them to practice at home whenever you have the time.
