First Day of School
Parents will be allowed on campus the first day of school only to help your child navigate to his/her classroom. There will be staff members available to help you find classrooms. Students will go directly to their classroom the first day. Parents - please use only the outside to navigate the campus - do not walk through the building to enter or exit.
Teachers will review arrival expectations with students on the first day of school so that we can return to a closed/secured campus on Tuesday, 8/16.
Please note: The "side" gate (also called "Mrs. Campbell's Gate") will not be open this year. All students need to come through the front gates.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
TK-5
Gates will open at 8:40 am. Parents will be allowed on campus the first day of school only to help your child navigate to his/her classroom. There will be staff members available to help you find classrooms. Students will go directly to their classroom the first day. Teachers will show them where to meet each day after. Gates will close promptly at 8:50. If a student arrives after 8:50, they will need to go to the front office for a tardy slip.
TK/Kindergarteners will enter the school through the gate in the front (to the right of the flag pole). We ask that either a guardian or sibling walk kindergarteners to their gate.
1st - 5th graders will enter the school through the main gate in front of the school. There will be no entrance through the side gate.
Dismissal:
Students who are being picked up in the front loop will be asked to remain in their grade-level area or with their sibling and watch for their car. If your student is walking home, they can meet you in a pre-determined location at the park across the street, by the marquee, or at the end of the main parking lot (near the dumpsters). Please practice this with your student prior to the first day of school.
Additional Information:
Unaccompanied 3rd-5th grade students are free to ride their bikes to school, but they must wear a helmet. The bike racks are located off the bus loop, near Room 18. They need to walk their bikes while on the sidewalks around the school. Students are not allowed to ride skateboards or motorized scooters.
Parents, please do not bring dogs on campus when you drop off or pick up your students. TVUSD has a strict policy regarding animals on campus that are not trained support animals.
** We encourage you to walk to school on the first day of school. Parking is limited. **

UNIVERSAL MEALS
Beginning in School Year 2022–23, California will become the first state to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program for school children.
What does this mean?
All children are offered a breakfast AND a lunch every school day for FREE! Breakfast will be served during your child's "recess" time every day.
What about meal applications?
All eligible families should still complete a meal application! Applications help our District's budget and may also help provide discounted internet access and transportation fees, academic enrichment programs, fee waivers for college applications and AP tests, as well as secure funding/resources for teachers! Also, in order to receive P-EBT you must have a meal application on file! CLICK HERE FOR THE ONLINE MEAL APPLICATION
