My Cherished Possesions

Ajah Young

Background Information

I interviewed my great grandma, Hattie Kelly, about her most cherished possession. She is 79 years old and born on December 7, 1935. I asked her 4 major questions: 1) What is your most cherished possession? 2) Why is this your most cherished possession? 3) When did you get it? 4) If it was to ever get lost or stolen, what would you do? Our conversation is down below.

Interview with my Great Grandma (Hattie Kelly)

Ajah: "What is your most cherished possession?"

Hattie: "I would have to say my most cherished possession would be my bible."

Ajah: "Why is this your most cherished possession?"

Hattie: "This is my most cherished possession because it shows me the way of life. It guides me. This bible has helped me through a lot. All of my situations where I have needed guidance, this bible has helped me."

Ajah: "When did you get your bible?"

Hattie: "I got my first bible when I was 19 and kept it ever since."

Ajah: "If your bible was to ever get lost or stole, what would you do?"

Hattie: "If my bible was to ever get lost or stolen, I don't know what I'd do. That bible means a lot to me. My first bible was given to me by my great grandmother when I was 9 and of course, she's no longer here."

My Cherished Possessions!

My first most cherished possession would be my life size teddy bear. I got my teddy bear on December 25, 2014 from my boyfriend. I cherish this because it's something I wanted and it helps me sleep at night. When I feel that I can't sleep, all I have to do is lie on it and I'll be sleep in no time! If something was to ever happen to my teddy bear I would be really upset because it means a lot to me and can't be replaced by anyone.

My second most cherished possession would be my baby picture. This is a special type of picture because it was taken when I was first born and the only picture that I have that shows when I had 11 fingers. Most people might think that's weird that I cherish a picture of me having 11 fingers, but do. That's the only picture that I have like that because my mom thought it was scary and didn't want to take anymore pictures of me until it was removed.

My third most cherished possession would be my trophy that says, "Best Cheerleader." I cherish this trophy because I got it at a cheer competition. I was very excited to get the trophy because I was not expecting it. I felt accomplished because the judges thought I was a great cheerleader and even more amazing leader.
