8th Grade Capstone Projects Complete
All 8th grade students have completed their capstone projects. Students researched an issue, took action on the issue, created a slideshow and presented their slideshow to a panel of adults. This was a big project and the students did an amazing job! Throughout this project students learned how to: ask questions and define a problem; obtain, evaluate and communicate information; as well as construct explanations and design solutions. These are all science and engineering skills that we believe will prepare our students for their future. Great job 8th graders!
6th Grade - Penny Wars
6th grade students participated in a Penny War to raise money for a school in South Sudan that doesn't have access to water. Students read the book "A Long Walk to Water" which inspired them to help bring water to those in need. The school partnered with the non-profit H2O for Life to raise money to drill a well to bring water to the school. The students had a goal of $1,700 and they crushed their goal by raising $3,061.00. Thank you 6th grade students and families!

Chromebook Turn-in
Students will be turning in their school issued Chromebooks on the following dates:
Monday, June 5 - 7th Grade
Tuesday, June 6 - 8th Grade
Wednesday, June 7 - 6th Grade
Students will need to turn in their Chromebook, a working charger, and their bag during their Science class on the above dates. Prior to turn in, students will clean their Chromebook (including removing any added stickers) and complete a damage checklist with their Science teacher. Fees will be assessed for damaged/lost Chromebooks, chargers, and bags. Returning JMS students will be receiving their same Chromebook, charger, and bag in the Fall.
Please ensure that your student brings their Chromebook, charger, and bag the day of their turn in. All Chromebooks and chargers must be returned by June 8 at the latest to avoid charges for a device that has not been returned.
Please continue to remind your students to charge their Chromebooks each night.
